I know that, at least in The States, if the lecturer asks the club if his "mates" (we'd call them "buddies" over here) could come, the club would virtually always welcome them. They would still have to pay admission, probably, but they would be welcome to attend. The thinking there is that, the more people who attend, the more likely the admission fees will exceed the lecturer's fee, and therefore fill the club's coffers.

At any rate, if that doesn't work, maybe we can put something together on one of my "off days" where I'd just hang out with you fellas for a day!

Regarding the DVD project asked about earlier, it'll be a while. Don't hold your breath! The last project took well over a year. As this project is considerably larger, I expect it will take even longer, and the producer still has a number of things to take care of before we can even get started. So consider it "on the back burner" for the time being.

Thanks to all of you for your support--it is greatly appreciated. By the way, about how long would it take to drive from Northern England to Glasgow, and how is the traffic?

All those who said they were interested in the Wolverhampton event should have had PMs from me - if not, please let me know!

Scott - the journey time referred to could vary quite a bit but, if you can advise which Northern town is your starting point, I'm sure we can get the route planner programs working overtime!

I talked to Simon, and he said he'd work it out so my "mates" could come to the lectures. He said they should expect to pay around six pounds (I don't have a "pound" symbol, sorry!) for admission.

Sadly, this tour won't now be taking place due to many reasons, both here and in the US - sorry guys.

Correct. The tour will not be taking place. My apologies. I can't go into details without making statements that could offend some, so suffice to say, we were not able to come to a mutually beneficial agreement in order to make the tour happen.

As Scott notes above sadly the tour won't be happening.

There's no major disagreement with any of this and should Scott wish to explain his reasoning I have no objections at regardless of any offence it may cause.

That's a real shame and a loss for UK magicians. I was really looking forward to seeing Scott's lecture this year.

There was quite a posse of members from the Ipswich Magic Society ready to travel up to Wolverhampton to see him, and I know there were many members from this board very eager to see him perform/lecture too.

Hopefully Scott will still consider coming to the UK another time, even if it's just for a holiday, meanwhile I (and I know I speak on behalf of other TalkMagic members when I say this) wish him all the best with whatever he does.
