Amazing, and very simple.

I guarantee that if you've read RRTCM you could figure this out before the end of the video.

A good find though, and testimony to the power of simple card magic, and the 'Bible' which MANY people slate, but you really should study...

Key Card FTW! There's plenty of tricks using this method in RRTCM.

There's no trick EXACTLY similar to this one but it's the same pattern as other key card tricks. Just by watching it and knowing this fact, you can figure it out. This trick is pretty similar to One for the money by Bill Goldman.

It is also described in the other 'bible' - Card College. I personally prefer the ending that Giobbi suggests as the use of counting the number of cards out may hint at the idea of a key card in a spectators mind. Instead by guessing the card initially you will either have a trick which turns out to be a miracle, or one with the same effect as that shown in the video.

Very simple to do if you're into card magic, but to the layman this is a killer - it just seems impossible

I figured this out on my second viewing and I may try this out on a few ppl and see what kinda reaction I get

Very nicely performed in the vid too by the way 8)

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Wow

This is a really nice effect and plays big if presented properly. It really does slay them, since the magician never needs to handle the deck. I like to follow this with Tomo's poker faced or a lovely little ditty by Basil Horwitz.

I forget which DVD I saw it in, but the "hitman" of magic shows it in one. His version he tells the person to make 4 to 6 piles and has his back turned the whole time.

This is on Sal Piacente's Vol. 1. He calls it the 4,5,6 packet trick. They way he does it is amazing. He commits himself to one card after a couple of shuffles(IIRC) and that is the spectators card. Slays them.
