Hi,
I'm Tim & am newish to magic. I've started doing cards using the royal road to card magic & have got about 1/2 way through & need to practice the various techniques. I am thinking also about a pk ring & trying mentalism - but I suppose if I try too much too quickly I'll end up being good at nothing much! Hopefully this forum will be able to help me.

Welcome to TM! Good to see that you're off to a good start with your card magic!
With regards to mentalism, it's imporant to remember that a PK ring does not make mentalism - you're best off starting with Corinda's Thirteen Steps to Mentalism. Craig Browning is the best person to ask about mentalism here on TM, and he wrote a useful piece on the subject - see here.
But yes - as you say, take things at your own pace, as and when they feel right. Best of luck and again welcome to TM!
