Signed playing cards......not sure if in the right section!

Postby moodini » Feb 28th, '07, 07:00

I am trying to do something fun and magic themed for my office wall, and came up with an idea. I want to put a frame/mural up in my office with various signed cards....hoping to get 50-70 done...........not spec signed, rather magician signed. I want to get some from girl/guy magicains all around the world.......sort of a who's who on Talkmagic and in the magic world in general.....

If you are a working magician (or working at one-day becoming one) and would like to contribute to my wall frame/mural, pm me so I can give you my address details. The stipulations on the card are as follows:

Any card of your choice (just be sure your signiture will show up well on it)

Face is signed with signiture and back is printed clearly with full name

I want the card to "tell a story about you" so it should be on the brand of card you use (or prefer to use) in performance, your favourite gaff, novelty colour of bicyle, etc......but be sure it tells a story in itself (I don't want a wall of only plain old red-backed bikes in Ace of Spades).....I have already had one mentalist tell me he is sending a Tarrot card...so you can see that I want the creativity of the card selection to lie on the shoulders of the magician signing it......some of you may want to send a blank faced, others a double backed.....the ideas is that it says something about you!

Signiture is in felt pen of any colour....sharpie for example

And lastly, when you send it to me, put a quick note in it about you, what style your prefer to perform, why you selected the card you sent, favorite effect, city, country, etc.....any little info about you and your magic...

I am hoping to have some fun with this and create a unique peice of wall art that suits my interests.....so please conisder contributing!

Great.....received a couple of offers (pm's) already.....please keep them coming......and no you don't have to be famous! Any old performing magician will do......maybe one day you will be famous, but that is not the point of my little office mural!

If you know of any other magicians that are not on Talkmagic, ask them if they would be willing to send/sign one as well......it is not limited to just talkmagic people.....I want full world, gender, styles, etc....represented on the mural

modini,

I will send you one as well.

infact, I already have something like this myself, though, only for famous magicians. i have a collection of signed aces, from all the big magicians I have met, like Bill Malone, Lennart Green, Joshua Jay, Chuck Hickok, Oz Pearlman, Michael Vincent, Bob Sheets, Gazzo, Juan Tamariz and others. I have framed all the signed card, and layed all the cards on black cloth. Below each card, i have a gold-plate, with the name of the magician, in capital letters, and the year it was signed.

:)

Yeah? He's great, and also such a cool person. At FISM 2006, he suddenly showed up, at 4am, at a hotelroom, wanting to join a game of poker. What do you say? "You are NOT shuffling" :)

If you can use Mandrake's scrawled signature on a card, I'd be happy to oblige, just PM the address to use and I'll send you one of the cards we threw around the Ruskin Hotel in Blackpool. There may still be a faint whiff of booze and other stuff on it but that will fade with time!

he's an absolute genius; he comes across as a very decent guy too...i'd consider it an honour to be cheated out of my money by him...
