My pressure fan

Postby SpongeBallSlight-of-hand » Feb 21st, '07, 07:44

Here's a link to my pressure fan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbkcL2WoSZI

I wanted to know if I'm doing it correctly. I can do it better with a new deck. Any tips/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It looks ok, but it would help if you could show the final fan a little longer and put it closer to the camera. It is very difficult to see if the cards fanned evenly.

I wash my hands everytime before I use the deck so it takes longer for the cards to get soiled. I'll upload another one later showing the cards better. Some of the cards aren't, especially the first bunch.

The fan itself was decent. Try moving the deck further up the hand so that your left hand is gripping less of the deck. This way, the end result of the fan is larger! As one of the comments on YouTube said, try cocking the deck to the left also.
Also, gripping less of the cards means that it should be easier to put more pressure onto the deck. Maybe you don't want to put too much because it bends the deck but when there's a situation where somebody hands you a deck, you can still do the pressure fan neatly! :D I myself don't care about putting too much pressure onto the fan. I just flip the deck over and pressure fan with the other face of the deck. Then, in the end, I place the deck into my Porper Clip and voila! The deck is nice and flat again! :D

. Unfortunately I really can't afford XB right now. I've modified my finger position in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCYmhSkHnmw . Below is the way I want to fan the cards, from one end of the hand to the other. How would I go about doing this?

Thanks

You still hold your deck too high. You should hold it more at the bottom edge; if you do so, it will slide easier in your hand... Relax while doing it as well, you look all tense!
I'll try to make a short video of mine tonight. And I'll post it for ya.

Hi
I think you're wrapping your fingers too far round the back and outside of the deck. And like others have said, they need to be further down the deck. So that your index finger is just above or about in line with the height of your thumb.

When holding the pack, I personally just use the thumb & index. The other fingers just provide support, all the work happens between those 2 fingers otherwise.
