Hi - new guy in the house

Postby GrantW » Mar 2nd, '07, 18:41

Hi,

My Name is Grant (16:WP/SH) and I'm from Hertfordshire off North West London. I have been 'doing magic' (although I don't like to phrase it like that) for about 2 and a half years now and I have been working as a magician (I still go to school by the way) for nearly 2 years now working restaurants and private functions etc.

About 1 month ago I decided to divert my attention to mentalism as people say it suits my character and personality.

The books I have bought so far are Mind Myth and Magick by TA Waters (by the way I can spell but for those who didn't know he spelt Magic as Magick) and 13 Steps to Mentalism by Corinda. I have also bought Vol 2 and 3 of Videomind by Max Maven. Any other recommendations?

I still practice cards coins etc. and run a magic club at my school but I don't do much away from mentalism anymore.

Nice to meet you all and I look forward to joining the community here at TM

Grant

Volume 1  It's very good... there's a review of it that I did a while back knocking about somewhere on here.

Welcome to the TM house

I'd squeeze every bit you can out of those books/DVDs before moving on to new materials - that'll be about 25 years worth as that's one hell of a library you've got started.

I think it's fun to strip effects down you like to their basic principles and come up with new effects based on them - it means you have to buy less books too 8)

Hope you enjoy yourself here, but watch out you don't contract CUPS - it's very contagious.

Hi and welcome, regrettably we've had to delete your avatar as it was already in use by someone else here. Can you sort out a different one please?

only 2 years and you are a pro?

Anyway Luke Jermays building blocs is a good lil book if your in to this stuff. All so i have just got Marc Spellmans new dvd on impromptu stuff very good stuff on there, bit of tweaking and you can use it in paid gigs.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.
