Cascading Dice

Postby juggling_guy » Jan 6th, '04, 17:51

i am new to the magic sean and have decided to join the craize because i think i have taken my juggling as far as it can go and frankly i have grown quite board so i wanted a new hobby to fill the gap, an i have been hearing good things about magic so decided to look into it.
For my first thick i thought it would be best to look in the kids section and after many hours spent brousing i found a trick called Cascading Dice by Marvins Magic.

Anyway enough about me, now im gunna try and review it so here goes.

Effect - a large black die is in the middel of a plastic tub with a large black lid then with a flick of the wrist the black die dissapers and a "cascade" of about 6 small white dice appear.

This trick is totally, umbalivably simple even for a first time newbie like myself. i was astounded at how easy it was. The instructions are well written and easy to uderstand and aslo provide ideas for presentation and performace. i have performed this a couple of times in the pub and it seamed to work well, i even earnd my firt magic orientated jaw drop.
The only downside is that you cannot hand the trick out to the audience and it takes a quick trip to the gents to set it up.

Over all i'd give this a 8/10 for the trick and a easy level 1 for difficult.

Okay guys that was my first ever review so what did u think? and remember to go easy on the newbie.

Hi Juggling guy.

Yeah very good first attempt. Best thing to do is read a few of the other reviews and then you might notice a few bit's of extra info. that are quite handy, such as price and where it is available from.

Otherwise though as said, very good.

In my opinion, i didn't really like this trick. It is clearly a prop and just seems puzzling rather than magical, and the props can't be handed out, That's another disadvantage. It's an alright trick to start with but, i prefer slights and stuff. I'd only give it 5/10.
