Magic and Contact Juggling

Postby AcrylicAce » Mar 4th, '07, 08:55

Hey everyone,
I made this video basically just to test out my new editing program... i actually had to cut out most of the editing effects I did because i couldn't post it on youtube without the quality being horrid.

Anyways, I am still really new to magic and I haven't really contact juggled in a long time so take it easy on me... please give me some constructive criticism though!

The last trick I do is original... i think. At least I have never seen it anywhere, the idea just came to me the other day.

Oh yeah, and sorry about the quality... it sucks I know, i couldn't get it any better.

Hope you like it!

ooo, contact..... the palm spins are pretty nice, not far off being perfect, from that video at least. you have a common problem with your enigmas though in that it's going up and down a bit, perhaps because your fingers arn't in the middle of the ball. other than that the contact is pretty bad ass
(i shouldn't say too much about iso's not being perfect to be fair, given the only video of me on here doing a palm spin is shockingly bad, but i promise I'm better now)
on that note: i taught marc oberon contact juggling

as for the coin to bottle trick, it did look nice. but original? unfortunatly not. while you may have come it with it on your own (and kudos for that) there's about 101 tricks out there at the moment for putting coins in things. saying that, your method could be original, i didn't see it!

that was very good! love the glass ball stuff!

one tip though...on your shapeshifter don't emphasise the bend as much. you bend and bring it back a few times, just bend and flick. that's all it needs.

your coin in bottle was pretty cool, but could be done a tiny bit smoother i feel. perhaps a different angle of the bottle.

but very good all in all!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Yeah, i need to work on my contact juggling alot... I go way to fast with my arm rolls and such and like you said my enigma is all over the place. My palm iso is also not as good as I would like it to be either.

The bottle trick... I know there are alot of coin to bottle tricks but I have never seen one done where the coin goes into a capped bottle and actually doesn't even fit into the top of the bottle anyways. There may be, i just haven't seen it. Also, i know it needs alot of work... I just came up with the idea a few days ago so I haven't practiced it much.

Thanks for the comment on the shapeshifter... I just learned this the other day as well. I didn't know I was not supposed to bend the card a few times before hand... i thought that was how the trick was supposed to be done. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

in agreement with the shapeshifter there, i don't like seeing people bending the card at all when they do it, it doesn't make sense in my head; there's really no need for it.

as for the CJ you're actually quite good, there was a nice bit of iso'd rolling in there, i was impressed. as for the speed thing i know that problem all too well, it's exactly the same thing I'm working on at the moment, trying to slow everything down and make it look smooth.
(did i mention i taught marc oberon some contact juggling?)
with the enigmas i think you were just throwing too many variations into one go, there's no need and it just starts looking too confusing, just do a standard one a couple of times then start on variations, but dont try and do too many together. also, if enigmas are a problem then move them, i use an enigma to move the ball all the time and it still looks pretty good. (moving iso's, strange idea i know, but can look nice)

Nice work on the magic, juggling and editing.
As for the coin in bottle, I think I caught the method and as far as I know its original. There's a method which uses a similar technique but different enough to make yours original I think.
