What I don't like is the visible line after the change. It's really noticeable unless you are far away.

Fair enough. On mine it wasn't that noticable, and after the suprise of the change I didn't leave it there for ages for them to inspect it.

I have something called boomerang, its a similar effect but you throw the incorrect card in the air and catch the correct card. Its amazing !! the gimmick is realy well made. I also have blink and I think its rubbish.

i have mastered the sleight of hand version...i didnt even know that you could buy a gimmick to do it. The sleight of hand is not hard to learn, but you need to have experience in doing so that you get the card to flip round perfectly. I use this move quite a lot..i didnt even loearn it in a book..i just watched Blaine carefully! I have seen boomerang aswell and i think that thats better when you change your credit card into their chosen card, if your going from card to card then you should do the sleight version.

Being a purist, I'd not recommed gimmicks like this anyway.
Blink is reasonably well made - and there are lots of similar effects (Rob Bromley's Flash, for instance).

If you're having trouble hiding the line, try masking it with your thumb.

Keep a dupe of the 'flashed-to' card on top of the deck, once 'blinked', place the the gaff on top, DL and deal the REAL examinable card, but wrist-kill the deck so the exposed face of the gaffed card is not shown.

Finish clean, almost!

I much prefer snap-changes or twirls, though. Even double lifts or changes supply more impact.

The credit card change 'Boomerang' effect is a better use of this particular type of gaff, in my opinion.

There are many other 'quick-change' effects without gaffs (study some Sankey material) that leave you clean and use regular cards.

Blink is bad, very bad. Should be called 'Stink'.

Benthompson...

As with most of the tricks available, try reading about them first before asking on the forums.

A good source is www.penguinmagic.com, which has lots of demos and good descriptions available.
