Dynamic coins

Postby jugglemonkey » Jan 27th, '04, 00:06

I have only ever owned one set of dynamic coins, and the ones i bought where from what i can tell, price wise very cheap i.e. £5. I find these work fine but am interested on the main differences between this and other brands. Do you "get what you pay for"? or are some cheap ones just as good as the more expensive?

Cheers guys

iv'e had a few different sets and can say from experience that the only difference between them has been in manufacture not price.
some have worn out quicker than others, oddly enough the best have been marvin's magic ones which are fairly cheep and plain in design.

the worst ones being a japaneese version intricately designed with dragons carved in them that took chineese coins, they became so loose after two months that i ditched the workings and used them as coin covers instead, they were also very very exspensive.

Cheers guys. Was just wondering if i was missing out on some super smooth set that don't need to be bashed around to "work", and when they do work smoothly they sart "falling apart" at the worst moment.
Didnt realise that they need replacing every now and then.

Also what do youu guys think of loading a set off 1 pence pieces or somthing for the finally? any other ideas for a good climax?

Cheers

Yeah works very well if you keep some 5 pences finger palmed and then load and produce to end it. Much better than ending empty.

I have found some differences in the sets that I have owned. My current set (which I can't remember who manufactured them) bought some years ago stand the best scrutiny. There is hardly any difference to the cap whether the coins are in or out. If you look at a Marvin's set you will know what I mean.

I know this is a small point because if the routine is presented in a bold and confident fashion then the secret will never be seen. Think of the first time you were shown the trick.

Another presentation is to borrow a ring place it under a handkerchief have the spectator hold "their ring" and handkerchief. Do the dynamic routine as per instructions. For the finish vanish the ring from the handkerchief and make it appear from inside the caps.
