Postby Nem » Jan 27th, '04, 09:15

does anyone know of a version of 3 fly that does NOT use a flipper or butter coin, and uses ONLY 3 coins?

Well there's Bob Kohler's ultimate 3 Fly. That doesn't use a flipper coin - but I don't think your going to like the price.

It uses 3 very nice Silver Dollars, which I guess helps to push the price up. I know someone that has this and it is very sweet.

I've not come across one that only uses three coins... In my head, I don't see it looking anywhere near as fair as the standard versions.

3 Fly

Postby roman59 » Mar 15th, '04, 15:36

Hi all

Mark Masons routine uses soft silver dollars (well worn coins) it still uses 4 coins & not 3. (no gimmicks)

Daryl has a 3 fly routine worth checking out also.

Jay Sankey has a version called Mr Clean Coins Across which is featured on The Very Best Of Jay Sankey.

Personally I use Bob Kohlers Ultimate 3 Fly certainly not cheap, the coins are Morgan Silver Dollars, very very visible & bright.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Mark

Troy Hooser has a realy easy one called "3Fly Simplified" on his "Total Destruction DVDs - took me about 10min to learn & about an hour to get it looking clean, will take me a little longer to get it totaly pollished.

In my opinion, this is the best version, as it truly is VERY clean.
It takes a lot of skill, but it's worth it.

Best learned from his 'Revolutionary Coin Magic' Video (and now on DVD)... which is an outstanding lesson in contemporary coin routines.

Sankey's is nice, but isn't strictly a three fly, as it's not done at the fingertips.

There was a coin move in either the new magic of japan, or 5x5 japan, called the bullet.

It was essentially a method of secretly launching one coin from one hand to another invisibly... perhaps this can be explored?

That's a good point, Montz, although - it should be noted that as far as clean 'coins across' effects go, Sankeys is quite unbeatable IMHO

Reed McClintock has "Screaming 3-Fly" on his coin magic vid... perhaps this could be the Holy Grail... finishes totally clean... and we all know that Reed's coinwork is as smooth as Sun-Pat peanut butter.

3 Fly by Darryl is a booklet, explaining how to do the free fly with ungimicked coins.
