ALI BONGO Vs URI GELLER

Postby dat8962 » Mar 23rd, '07, 23:10

I thought that this was as good a place as any to talk about these two famnous names....

Did anyone see Ali Bongo make headlines in the Daily Mail sporting section yesterday? Strangely enough and at his age, you'd expect it to be the last place to find the great man making headlines....

Anyway, it would appear that a distant family member of Ali's is in the England squad to play Israel on Saturday whilst it transpires that Geller has been casting his psychic energy towards the Israel team to help them beat England.

A battle of the giants of magic wrote the mail and rather humerous it was too

When you read such things about people like Uri Geller, you must think: is it a publicity thing, or does the nutter really believes in what he is saying?

I'm from Israel BTW, but I don't really give a damn about soccer, or sports in general, so I just use to opportunity to get drunk in bars with funny English chaps.

Well, he's the man who introduced Michael Jackson to Martin Bashir but didn't see that little lot coming!

He also tried to help Exeter City in 2002 "wiz my mind" and they were relegated a year later.

Dunno about you, but if he started mending spoons, I'd be seriously impressed.

After last nights result (0-0 draw) it doesn't look as if either of them had any impact.

Actually, I think that Geller does believe in his own publicity.

Geller does not believe his own press. It sounds lame, but I can't tell you how I know this. If you choose not to accept this, fine.

Take care, Ian

Did anyone see the hilarious documentary about the Geller family on holiday a couple of years ago?
It was unintentionally funny...

Ali Bongo is a legend, a proficient magician.
Uri Gellar is just a loon who has made a laughing stock out of himself and spoon benders in general.
In fact, the title of Spoon Bender suits him as he is both.

i saw the thing in The Sun, i loved the fact Ali Bongo refered to Gellar as a magician...

i reckon mr bongo is quite a bit more than "proficient" as a magician though...though i agree with the legend tag...it shocked me to see his name on 13 steps to Mentalism when i first started studying...
