Flash Paper Enquiry

Postby dat8962 » Jan 29th, '04, 19:23

I've been performing with the ID for some time now but recently saw a magician on TV use some flash paper to change from the invisible to visible deck.

I've now bought some flash paper and would like to know some techniques for igniting this as it's a bit obvious striking a match and lighting from below.

Can anyone provide some suggestions? most appreciated!

http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1314 try this

also you can get wand lighters or you could try a match pull to produce lit matches from your jacket lapel etc.

He was on some rubbish programme about the best of t.v in 2003, right?

The magician you refer to was Monkey Boy aka Ali Cook, he's from Monkey Magic on Channel 5, (Hurray for Channel 5 and their magic coverage, Hurray for Monkey Magic :D ).

It was a clever idea, I liked it. Here are two recent topics about wonderful Flash Paper...

Thanks Jing - It was on at Christmas but I don't think it was the Monkey magic. As far as I can recall (trying to make a four pack of Stella disappear at the time) it was some American on a cruise with four celebs who were all out for a freebie.

The links were usefull

Another good idea might be to get a Glo-plug, available from hobbie shops. Gimmick up a cardbox with one & battery & switch, then all you need do it touch the paper to the Glo-plug & it ignites the FP.

hi.
you can get an ignighter in the form of a flesh coloured ring/palm combi.
load it with flash cotton and it has a "lighter wheel" which you strike with your thumb.
visit your local boscome magig studio!!
