Oh gawd, back to Mark Lewis...

For the information of the catalysts on the forum, the post is MOVED to an area for review by the other moderators before it is replaced on the forum.

I am sick to death of the bitching, and sick to death of being accused of favouritism. Therefore, when it DOES come back onto the scene in it's fullness when someone ELSE can moderate, I wish you guys great luck in fighting over the scraps.

Ho hum, it's just another day in paradise....

Why is it that lately there are a lot of members that just seem to be talking tripe, arguing, bitching, moaning and acting the goat!!

When I first came to TM, I was enticed by the helpfulness of those here, TM was a great place to 'hang out' ( in the non-geekiest way ), somewhere to be while dealing with the scum that is my place of work.

But lately, Im getting bored of reading arguments with people that have never met.

We are all here for the same purpose more or less. Come on kids, lets act our age and spend our time here talking about the common interest we all have and stop all this bitching!!

You should make me MOD.. then you'd see harsh.. Ive moderated many a forum and I would kick ass here with all the cr*p I see

I'm with ID on this one,

Come on everybody, there really is no need for all the bitching and backstabbing that's going on.

It's only a computer forum, not the real world. Let just play nicely and all get along, please?

I second I.D and Lady of Mystery. This is getting pathetic and boring can we please change the record. Why is everybody arguing dont you have a life this is just virtual reality. Who cares what he did or what he said or how he did it or why they said what they said because i sure dont I have got a life with more important issues to deal with. Cant we all just get along.

OK, it's like this. Mark Lewis wrote a book. I proofread it. Mark and I are members of a Forum where censorship is limited to outsiders and lunatics- Danny Hustle's Busker's Cafe: http://www.buskerscafe.com . I have my own commercial magic web site (see my signature) and the only magic forum that actually encourages magic dealers to post and doesn't consider posts about magic products to be spam- just posts about products that enlarge certain body parts and that sort of thing would be considered spam. Back to Mark's book- I saw he was a member of this forum and thought I should mention his book in the review section, so I did. Right away it was jumped on as not being a review because it was just a mention and a table of contents. Being used to having my posts deleted on the Green Cafe I told Seige to go ahead. He explained, politely, that he wanted a review not a mention. So I wrote a proofreader's review. Mark jumped in and offered to write his own review, then cut and pasted in a review from the Genii website which included a link back to his web-site. You can do things like that on the Buskers Cafe Forum or the Magic Nook Forum and people will be glad to get the links that reference the material being talked about as long as it references magic and not viagra. Apparently that link set off the erasure and lockdown. End of story.

Moral of story: ummmm write one yourselves. This will probably be deleted anyway.

This Mark Wilson bashing has been going on long before your post mate..

Its getting boring.. I know nothing about the man, other than he is a genious with a svengali deck and speaks his mind. But every time he posts on here theres an instant mark bashing going on.. even though he gives some back but regardless.. its boring, immature and foolish and it pi**es me right off!!

Theres just no need for it.. no one cares!!

It was exactly how you said it happened Spellbinder. But you missed out the ending.

Spellbinder was upfront about playing a part of the product under review. Mark Lewis offered to review it himself and then cut and pasted another review written by someone else. No problems so far. Beeno then asked if there was a link to a review not written by people who worked on the book or one chosen by the author. Seige (who unknown to people in the thread had received several PMs about free advertising, bias, etc.) stepped in and abruptly took beeno to task, basically saying "what's it got to do with you?"

Up until this point there were no arguments, moans or groans in the thread. I then said that asking for link to a review not handpicked by the author was perfectly acceptable in a review discussion. Seige then threatened to lock the thread. In fairness to him, he later said he'd received at lot of PMs regarding closing the thread.

Mark Lewis has written a book celebrating the trouble he causes on magic forums. He then delights in posting about forums he's been banned from. The last two big arguments on this forums have directly resulted from his threads.

I rather wish Spellbinder hadn't put the link to Danny's Forum. We don't want this horrible lot over there. Not that Danny would let them in anyway.
Mind you we will allow Seige in so that we can brainwash him to show more and more favouritism to us.

Quite frankly I think some of you are putting far too much unfair pressure on Seige who far from showing "favouritism" is being as objective as he can.

I am a moderator on Danny's forum and I am far more biased than Seige is. But on Danny's place there are eruptions and fights all the time but nobody means a word of it. We understand humour. Some people here need to get a sense of it.

On the other thread I was begged for an objective review. I gave one yet there was still dissatisfaction. So I decided to give a negative one but I couldn't find one. Every single person that has purchased my most wondrous piece of literature has said it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The only people that were negative were people that had never actually read the book. I therefore posted all the negativity that I could find on that dreadful genii place. Loads of insults and cursing Mark Lewis to keep you all happy but you STILL weren't satisfied.

Then Seige made the thread vanish and you STILL aren't satisfied and you are all showing this dissatisfaction by bleating on here.

Still bleat away. The more you bleat the more money I make. Truly I am a master psychologist.

I am following the dictum of my great friend Murray the Escapologist. "Talk about me good, talk about me bad, it doesn't matter as long as you talk about me"

So carry on talking.....................
