Yes. And I have already explained how on another thread. Seek and ye shall find.

You can also switch the deck if you wish. My book explains a number of methods or you can use your own. However once you do so then continue to do a svengali routine with a regular deck. Yes. You read it right. It is possible by means of double lifts, the top change and the hindu shuffle to do for a short while the same things you have been doing with the trick deck. Then leave them on the table and say nothing. The spectators will grab the cards and find nothing whatever wrong with them. This is an ideal scenario because of the time misdirection after the deck switch.

It is very good psychology whether or not you switch the deck to say at the beginning "this is a trick deck that I purchased at a magic shop" thus taking the wind out of their sails. And if you do switch them they won't have a clue what the hell happened and they will think you are kidding them when you said it was a trick deck.

Careful. We'll get the usual suspects here to say that I am blatantly advertising.

I think my e-mail has not been functioning properly so I fixed it and sent another message to Mr Hopkinson. I haven't heard a thing. I give up.

When Marmaduke and his book arrives at his door I assume a great revelation will come to Kevin and the universe will explain the matter to him. I have tried and failed.

Incidentally the mouse has hardly been seen in the UK where the squirmle is much more prevalent. As a pocket trick for entertainment rather than sales the mouse is much more practical because of the over exposure of the snake as a toy product.

I think one of the greatest aspects of my routine is the incorporation of the Spooky Pencil which is a great routine in it's own right. The pencil travels all over the hand, defies the laws of gravity and finally rises out of a bottle. Then the mouse comes into play again. I also make a coin move about.

I'm not going to explain the routine here but I have no objection to giving the patter which is vaguely amusing. If anyone wants me to do so that is. Just ask and it will be given unto you.

Blatant shameless advertising and self promotion, call the MI5, FBI or the power rangers. Na only messing about.

Go on then Mark, please enlighten us with your patter.

Just a small side question Mark- What drew you towards the Svengali deck as opposed to a normal deck?

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

Yes this mouse saga does seem interesting ( or is it just amusing )

Either way I would love to hear it, here or by pm.

And I would put the same question to you. I am one month into the svengali deck, and as creative as I am ( or nuts as the case may be ) I am not getting a huge influx of ideas in relation to using a svegali.

The same goes with my stripper deck. I have not performed a single effect with it, why I have only pulled it out of the draw once

So, what drew to you to Svengali and how versatile is it? I dont see how you could use a svengali deck so extensively> but I am virtually a virgin to this aspect so forgive me

ID, have a look in the Encyclopedia of Card Tricks. There's a chapter in there on tricks with the Svengali.

We must NOT talk about the stripper deck. I do not want to be accused of blatant advertising on Tomo's behalf. He makes enough money as it is with his sneaky signature on every post whereas I never resort to that kind of underhanded behaviour since it is well known that I am very low key when advertising.

I will however concede that the great Paul Potassy used nothing but a stripper deck his entire life. He didn't use a regular deck at all. I will also concede that David Cronin noted magic demonstrator at Harrods far preferred the stripper deck to a svengali deck.

I know quite a bit about the stripper deck myself and I developed a rather good routine with them when I worked for Corinda.

There. I hope all this yapping about the stripper deck will shut Tomo up when he inevitably comes round to moan accompanied by Lord Freddie yapping at our heels instead of attending to their own business.

I am not drawn to the svengali deck at all but I rather like food with my meals so I was forced into a shotgun marriage with it in order to earn a living. Since I had to do it I thought I might as well make a good job of it and I worked out a routine which did just that. In addition I learned a lot about the deck along the way.

However I am extremely competent with a regular deck and it should not be assumed that the only card tricks I know are with a svengali deck. However I learned a long time ago that it was more important to manipulate the people than to manipulat the cards so I use the simplest possible methods to achieve my objective which is to entertain people and of course baffle them too.

I shall expound on the mouse patter when I have the energy. In other words later.

I didn't mean that great big fat signature Tomo. I am referring to that piddly little one you used to have. It was quite effective in it's way I thought. Subtle but irritating nevertheless. I would put one on but I have no idea how to do it. Aren't you lucky?

I certainly am. Right place, right time, that's me.

If the great Mark Lewis actually needs help, however, he need only ask directly and all shall be forthcoming.

Mark, just found an old thread, (mid feb) by Doc Eason on the Bunny. he was also asking for Mr Hopkinsons whereabouts. (Manchester area, I think.) Also a question about delivery of items.

It might be worth contacting the Doc, either he has found something out by now, or something strange might be going on!!!!
