That's not quite it. I pinch the short end corners and the card spins very quickly and in a more controlled way. I was sat on the floor late last night with the remote control units spread a few feet apart, gradually building piles of cards I'd landed around them. I'll see about getting the webcam hooked up tomorrow and doing a few.

I see. I just tried your method of using the short ends and I agree that it is more controlled. Pinching the short ends allowed more spin thus allowing it to float for longer. I assume it is the same methodology as what I did though?

its early, im ill and not quite sure where i am..

when you throw it tomo, if you keep your hand where it is was upon release, does it come straight back to your hand?

i think the proper name is in expert card technique isnt it? i can throw one about 20ft in the air up, spinning...9/10 i catch the blighter...

if you wanted a change/challange, the richard bellars dvd had a big section on throw cards a long long distance...thats fun...

Yep, that's it. I'll have to find the driver disk for my webcam and upload a clip, but if you look down the length of your thumb, that's the direction it's going to go in. I started practicing it as a way of throwing a card to the table for the spec to turn over, but if you turn your hand over it flirts into the air and back down to you too, though it's a bit uncontrolled.

Yes, I go for maximum spin and try to keep the card as flat as possible so that it slowly descends to a predictable place on the table in front of me each time.

Just tried it, but unfortunately not. It feels a little more stable in the air, though, which might be because the air can escape through the hole rather than from under the edges.

just had a major disaster with this. I'm in the office on my own so have been practicing. One card has just gone out of control and gone sailing through the open door into the next office.

Got to go and ask for my card back now

I was just reading this but for some reason am unable to view the video demo.
Is this done whilst holding an entire deck, a few cards or a single card?

There is a very similar method on Daryl's encyclopedia of card sleights, I can't remember the name of it now. He holds the deck length ways between his thumb and ring finger. Then bends the card by pushing his forefinger towards his thumb.

Its a good alternative to the method you talking about Tomo and you can fire of as many as you want of the top of the deck.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

I've been practicing this one for a couple of weeks now and it works wonderfully! I can snap away the card and catch it in my hand until I have almost the whole deck in the catch hand. Unfortunately I don't remember what it's called in Daryl's encyclopedia. I'll check this weekend. Is it possible he does it when he shows different type of counts?

Yeah if memory serves me correct he does it during the flourish counts just before the DL sleights.
