Introducing Philipsw

Postby philipsw » Mar 27th, '07, 22:45

Greetings all at TalkMagic.

I am amazed by how many magicians I meet who have a similar story to mine. Namely, "bitten by the bug" at a young age (in my case when given a magic set). And then having a "time out" period and having come back to magic several years later.

I got back in to magic a couple of years back, and was happily reunited with some boxes of kit that had been in the loft since uni. When down in Sussex I got involved with the Sussex Magic Circle - which was great fun. But now I am in N. London.

It is amazing how the Internet has changed the shape of magic since the early 90s when I 'dropped out'.

Anyway, enough rambling for now.

Phil

Hi and welcome to TM

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Hi there,

I'm very much the same as you, got into magic as a kid by watching Paul Daniels and a Paul Daniels magic set I got for christmas one year. Then lost interest at about 13 when more 'interesting' things caught my attention, got back into it again about 18 months ago

Thanks for the warm welcome from so many. :D

One of the things that kept the magic interest 'ticking over' in the fallow years was continuing to receive magic magazines. And now I've got a slightly obsessive desire to try and 'back fill' a complete set of Magigrams over time. So if anyone is getting rid of any, let me know...

Welcome, even though I'm only here a day longer than you :).

Anyway, cool page about bicycle! I'm a big fan of these gaffed decks!
