If you don't know how an ID works and don't want to know, then please don't read the text below.

I bought an invisble deck on ebay a while ago but it doesn't work very well. The cards barely stick to eachother so when i fan the deck it's possible to see the backs of some of the cards. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? The deck was quite cheap so i was also wondering whether there are different makes of ID i.e. different grades of quality? I can see how it could work a treat so i'd be willing to pay for a decent deck but im not sure whether it's just me not doing it right.

Hey

Can i start by suggesting you make a quick introduction to tell us all a little bit about yourself in the introduction section.

Your post may have to be edited for some un meant exposure but thats no biggy.

When you spread the deck you have to make sure to use only a light touch. The cards aren't meant to be "tight" as the revealing of the card would look more forced.
Practice just letting the card slip from hand hand to the other then once you have that down try to push the cards off with your thumb. It took me a while to get it looking natural but you will get there in the end.

Hope that helps

Sam

I'd say that's a bit too close to exposure.

Try not gripping the cards so tightly.

Yes, a light touch is needed. I bought mine in Bicycle stock from www.magictricks.co.uk and it's excellent quality and has never let me down.
If a lighter touch doesn't seem to work, you could always get some r******ng fluid to put on yourself.
Is it a Bicycle deck?

[quote="kitaristi0"]I'd say that's a bit too close to exposure. quote]

I understand your concern Kitaristi0 but i've put a warning at the top and it's already exposed on places like Wikipedia - i know because before i bought it i sought out the explanation.

Lord Freddie yes it is a bicycle deck. I'm starting to get the impression that it probably is my deck - the cards are so loose it's unbelievable. Come to think of it I remember when i first opened them they were tighter (not incredibly tight) but after using it a few times they became loose...

The one from www.magictricks.co.uk is only about six or seven quid and is great quality (and brand new!).
It's worth getting one, it's a superb effect that slays laymen and the price they sell them for, it's a bargain.

Buying on ebay does present the odd problem.....you likely didn't buy it from a "reputable magic dealer" and as such never know what type of quality the product is......they are rather easy decks to make, but some attention to detail is important...you may have just simply gotten a poorly made deck!

You can't go wrong with that one mate, their service is excellent and it's a good deck.
