HI:Brook
What video would you suggest I should get or maybe just a book.
I bought Darwin Ortiz Card Shark Magic Tricks VHS - Vol. 1 on Ebay from fun_fx but as I can see that is just volume#1 and there are 8 in total. Do you think I'm going the right way?. But would you suggest I do. Thanks for your time. Gordy

The pros and cons of a dvd: you visually see it and hence can copy exactly what they are doing, this way is easier to learn but you are just copying and not really developping your own style.

A book is more difficult to learn with, but you end up practising and books have been around longer so that I suppose would be the root of magic.

For magic in general you should get Mark Wilson's Complete course in Magic, for coins Bobo's Coin Magic is a great start and for cards, I would advice the Royal Road to Card Magic. If you combine that with a dvd or two like Crash Course 1 or How to do Street Magic, you should be on your way.

WARNING, start with ONE thing and finish it before buying the next, otherwise before you know it you will be suffering CUPS!!!

Hi, welcome to TM! :D

As said above, Mark Wilson's Complete Course is a brilliant book to get you started. It'll give you the basics of a very wide range of different types of magic
