making money or debit cards appear(request for ideas)

Postby jasong » Apr 10th, '07, 21:32

I'm not sure when I'll see my cousin's kids again(at the moment they're an 11-year old girl and a 6-year old boy, both very bright). I'd like to give them each a gift of a $20 or a debit card. I'd like to accomplish this magically, but I'm not good at using Google.

Could someone please point me in the right direction, maybe with advice on search terms?

I've tried this with bank-notes and I couldn't get it to work either :(

I doubt anyone will be able to give you a straight answer as that would expose the "Appearing Debit Card" trick and we don't do that kind of thing around here.

I'm sure someone will recommend a suitable purchase - maybe Ammar's Business Card Miracles DVD?

if you look at the size of a playing card, then look at the size of a debit card..that should give you some food for thought...

well, it did me...credit cards, travel cards, playing cards...you get the picture..

i suppose it depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it.
do you have any skills already? is there a magic shop near you? if you've got time and inclination buy a TT for a few dollars (person who works at magic shop will tell what you it is when you go to buy it) and learn the bill switch. or there are plenty of cheap 'print your own money' tricks for sale on ebay which you can do within minutes of opening it. or get a bob hummer/hummingbird/helicopter card trick and apply it to the debit card. with all these you could even give them the props after and teach them how to amaze their friends. personally i'd go for the bill switch and NOT tell them how it's done. but then i've already put in the practice time needed.

You could do a spellbound change, from something small like a coin, into pretty much anything, even a debit card.

That'd look very magical.
