Hi Daz, Welcome to Talk Magic

Info on the ID can be found here.

It's a very strong and easy to do trick which will introduce you to one of the classic gimmicks of card tricks. You will get great reactions.

From what I can gather, the electric deck isn't so much for a trick, but just a tool for making you appear to be a flash card handler.

Hi and welcome to the forum! If you do a Search (see above) for ID you'll see loads of chat and information which might help but basically you can work many different effects with it and it's a staple item of most Magician's acts. Check out http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_i ... ts_id=1017 for product details.

The Electric Deck http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_i ... ts_id=3091 isn't quite so universally useful and merely allows you do do a fancy flourish without dropping the cards!

I can now drop the cards without even doing a fancy flourish. Everyday I get better and better :)

You might get away with handing a similar looking, but totally unprepared, deck to a spec and ask them to copy your marvellous moves, making the waterfall of cards higher and higher as you go along until they can't do it. Which is fine and, as long as you get someone to pick the cards up, it should be OK  . Not sure whether you ought to reveal the secret by just letting them 'all hang' as it were but I have seen that done so the spec doesn't feel too much of an idiot.

I bought an electric deck then gave it to a friend -

the card backs didn't match any other deck i had, and there was only half a deck's worth of cards there anyway.

My friend uses it as 'stress relief' (apparently) - maybe if you're giving up smoking you could buy one to give your hands something to do...

Sounds like the same ones I bought - made in India if I remember right. However, I see you can get Electric deck in proper Bikes these days - if you really want to!

I know about the ID.Have you seen David blaine's TV special "street magic",where he asked a spectator to think of any card and just turn that over in his mind. And when David takes his deck of card and fan it face up,only one card was facedown and that was the spectator';s selected card. This mind blowing trick was done with the "ID".If you want to know more about it,contact me privately.

hi protik and daz - welcome to the forum :)

hmm - I really must dust off my ID. Now where did I put it? It's going to be a mission finding an ID..

Actually it's one of those things I know is a really good effect, but I haven't used it that much. The same day I got it I went out and performed it thinking it was really easy - and I blew it
Serves me right I guess. I've never really used it since then but I need to pull it out again and work it into my close-up routine.

The ID is a really good effect..

(I was actually call weird and even David Blaine when i last did it !)

But I find it quite hard to do and it took me ages before I was confident enough to actually do it, but maybe that's just me being new to this and all. I still have trouble fanning the cards sometimes but practice makes perfect I guess.

PS. I know I have asked this before.. but does anyone have any tips to get the fanning to work better, ie. reduce the prospect of revealing etc..

Thanks everyone

Slippery

i depends, on how you want to fan them.

PM me and I'll go into a bit more detail.

All the best,

Just like everyone else, I think this is an awsome deck. The inner workings are VERY clever. I also, had a bit of trouble learning how to use the deck, but with enough practice i was able to master it. Their are soo many mind blowing possibilities for this deck, it's scary.
