my two best mates and myself were walking through a nice quiet town were we live. it really is quiet. it's more of a village surrounded by rough places were trouble normally kicks off.

we were naughty, and had consumed some light drugs before hand and we were just walking it off before we returned home. we've all done it!

we headed towards some shops to get some food. there was a gang outside, but we thought nothing of it because of the area. we decided to take a turn and miss the shops though, just to be safe. i heard my name being called out, so i turned around to see who it was. it was coming from the gang but i didn't recognise them, so we carried on walking. this is were the adrenaline started to come about. they started to follow us. still, we stayed calm, and took another right. they still followed us. again, staying come we picked up the pace and took another right. i could sense them walking right behind me. so i turned around and asked "do i know you?" one of them replied "i dno. do ya!" so i said i don't think so. i turned around and carried on walking. then i heard somebody run, so i turned around and there it was. i fat metal trunjen (the metal sticks the police use) swinging towards my knee caps. i twisted myself, so it hit me in the thy. then i ran like s**t! i've actually never ran that fast for that long my whole life. my friends started to run with me, but one of them had a freshly healed ankle, after breaking it, so he couldn't run for long. there was about 13 of them, of which about 8 were chacing after us. we ran all the way through the village. all the way home.

my nan is looking after me and my little brother, because my mum and dad are on holiday. which is actually a good thing.

we rang my mates dad up to come and pick him up. we sprayed ourselves in some lynx before he arrived 8) *smoothly does it* we both hopped in and with our heads down searched the village. my other friend wasn't to be seen.

we returned home to ring his house and thankyfully he was there, unharmed! my other friend has gone home and now I'm sittin here with a bru telling you all.

i've had quite alot of encounters like this due to being a skateboarder, but this was by far the scariest. I'm going to have a nice bruise the size of a small dinner plate on my leg tomorrow 8) but all is well.

well, atleast I'm glad i didn't get my face smashed in :)

Glad you're all OK but you really should consider reporting this to the police.

Next time it may be worse for either you or someone else and although not planned, they may unintentially kill someone with behaviour like this.

They need to be stopped and despite the lucky escape this was in fact a serious assault. Chances are that the police will know who they are anyway.

You need to call the police mate. They are probably still out and will be easily picked up. It might save some other person getting hurt, as it sounds like they are out for trouble.

Something like this happened to my much younger brother and friends, mostly him.

They were out by our creek, and a couple of punks, came after them. One of them lashed out on my brother with a bat. Really pi**ed me off. One of my brothers friend knew one of the assulters, but I dont think the cops followed through.

I swore if I ever met them, they would regret it. I still walk the neighbor- hood every day I am in town with 2 set of hand cuffs, mace and and police batton- for protection if they have a bat still.

I dont want to hurt them, just arrest them. We can do that here

They shouldnt be allowed to get away with s*** like that.

Call the police, give them a discription, all the information you can.

That's really nasty, glad that you're all ok though. I'd go with what's been said, give the old bill a call.

I've never understood what these idiots get out of this sort of thing.

I would suggest you contact the police but after my last encounter with a gang it just ends up making more troulble for you.

Sure it is very wrong and the people who do it deserve to be shot but if they're under 18 then they will get no more than a warning, know you grassed and go looking for you or your friends again.

Just a thought but i'd be careful

well..glad you're ok...bring back the stocks i say...

it would be good if you could get some mobile phone shots of them during the day...then just drop them off to the coppers...

just speak to the police, let them know - see what they say...

shame you didnt have electric touch and give 'em a good frazzle...

complete scum they are though...wish them all the bad luck in the world and some terminal disease or other...

I would actually advise against calling the old bill because if there only a bunch of young hoodrats they will only get a warning and they will come back after you with alot more than a bat. I don't mean to sound harsh Mikey but this is what will happen ive seen it so many times around my area. I would just advise you too stay out of there way as much as possible or if all else fails take a shotgun to their head  . Glad to hear your ok thoe. I would love to see some of these scumbags locked up but the most old bill are to dumb and corrupt to give a toss so they will just get a slap on the wrist and it will put you in more danger if they know who told the old bill.

I ain't...would recomend against it mate - only takes one bad one and your screwed

but sorry to hear about what happened....happened to me before in the park twice, luckily i came off ok both times.

but the main thing here mate, IMO, is the "light drugs" - my friend nearly died just from aerosol...I know what i say probs won't do much for you though - the "it won't happen to me" generally takes over at this point,

but thought i might as well throw it in anyway.

Love

Nick em all I say Mikey should be in slammer for the drugs and the gang should be nicked for assualt.

Actually if I had my way gobbing on the street would be 15 years no parole.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Sorry to hear about that, sounds hideous. Yes, you should call the police, but gangs have a habit of being under age of prosicution and you can end up being victimised for grassing them up. It's a tough call.

I don't suppose that "my walls aren't four feet tall" would work on 13 people.

OK, some advice...

1. Don't EVER get into confrontations after 'light' drugs. They give you confidence AND paranoia, and the two don't mix. People tend to get mouthy, and being mouthy gets you into trouble.

2. NEVER stop and turn round. Just walk. Or if things get heated, run.

3. ALWAYS report incidents like this to the police. Firstly, if your injury turned nasty and you had made a formal complaint, you are more entitled to compensation... a friend of mine in his 40s was set upon by four kids in Wolverhampton and was bashed across his forearm with something solid, and because he was drunk, he didn't feel it. Luckily, he filed a police report, and the next morning when he woke up in total agony with a lump the size of a cricket ball on his arm—and subsequently revealing he'd got broken bones—he couldn't work for 3 weeks. The police took things a bit more seriously then, as insurance companies became involved, and low and behold caught the pillocks.

4. NEVER feel invincible enough to start mouthing to a 'gang'. You're playing into their hands. Take no notice, and generally they will look for other bait.

5. REMEMBER that they may ALSO be drunk, or intoxicated with other brain-altering chemicals... meaning they TOO will be feeling cocky, and well-up for a fight. I don't mean to sound stereotypical, but in general, the sorts of chaps you are talking about are the ones who get mashed up and go looking for scraps at football matches. A couple of snorts of something unsavoury and all of a sudden they become the next Rambo. Couple this with the fact they are possibly braindead and carefree even when lucid, and you have a killer combo.

6. COMMON SENSE says that you shouldn't put your faith in your mates. Just because you are up for defending yourself, and feel that 'there are more of us than them', doesn't mean your buddies want to be dragged into your little showdown. And neither should you expect them to.

7. FEAR THE REAPER: It's not uncommon these days for these guys to be carrying nasty make-shift or even purpose-bought weaponry. Someone very close to me almost died at the age of 19 after being stabbed in the lower back with a pencil. You don't know WHAT a stranger is capable of, so don't push them. Usually, they've got nothing to loose, as they're too young to go down for it, and will not think twice about carving you a new smile.

8. DO NOT GO OUT LOOKING FOR TROUBLE... because, if you do, it has a funny habit of finding you, and it's a total gamble as to whether or not you will come out on top.

thanks for your concerns everyone :)

i had a nice day at the beach today 8) calmed me down quite nicely after last night :)

my leg has a nasty bruise, but i'll survive. i will not be reporting this to the police because of the fact that they are c*** (not the best) around my area! some of my mates have been mugged before today, and so have i! it always comes out worst on US instead of the other people, so I'm just going to let it slip. i never got a good look at them, there was about 15 of them against 3, and my main reaction was run like s**t.

it's all good now though. just be a bit more careful me thinks!
