Yes, Britain's chav culture, I'm afraid.
Stay off the "light drugs" and away from scum like this.
Well, avoid council estates really as that's the natural habitat for these kind of people.
You're right in not calling the police, they only attend to things when it's too late.

Or you can read the excellent book "dead or alive its your choice" by Geoff Thompson its not a how to take on 400 people at once Bruce Lee style its more to do on how you make you self less of a victim. How to hold your self. How to take a punch if it comes to it , the fence and all so total awareness. where you use a colour code system in your mind for danger very good book here is a quote :

"I feel a lot safer now walking through the park at night" If this was a proper self defence training course then the advice should have been dont walt through the park at night"

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

i had a nice day at the beach today 8) calmed me down quite nicely after last night :)

my leg has a nasty bruise, but i'll survive. i will not be reporting this to the police because of the fact that they are c*** (not the best) around my area! some of my mates have been mugged before today, and so have i! it always comes out worst on US instead of the other people, so I'm just going to let it slip. i never got a good look at them, there was about 15 of them against 3, and my main reaction was run like s**t.

it's all good now though. just be a bit more careful me thinks!

I am so glad that you are all OK and you had a good time at the beach fop geting about last night take care

I have to say that the police around my(quite rough) area are usually quite good. So far I've been stoned by chavs, whom they caught and nicked, been punched by a group of crackheads(4) who I ran away from, called the police and got them done for assault and been sworn at for no apparent reason by some crazy old woman who they cautioned I think. Nutters!!

Anyway, glad to hear yo'ure OK now., and good luck with the R+R :D

I really hope that next time someone is brave enough to use Derren's 'My wall isn't 4 foot high' technique. It would be rather amusing, if somewhat dangerous.

If you happen to be a cheeky cockney chappie like me you make one call to your mate Dave the enforcer usualy sorts out problems. Jack thats what you get for living in Birmingham but this isnt just a large city problem like London , Liverpool birmingham etc, it happens in small places like mikey said.

Some police officers are very good at there jobs and will come to your aid I know a few personaly and its good we have people like that. On the other hand Mikey shouldnt have been taking illict substances and maybe this would have never happend to him. Allthough some one should be able to go about there business with out fear of attack. I blame all the liberal types who dont allow the police to be heavy handed. vote markdini Prime minster.

Or, more correctly, when you live somewhere in the vicinity of a massive council estate (i.e. my house) :D :D Oh well....

That's a bit harsh - he is only a 17 year old lad but please don't think I'm condoning the use of illegal substances, or equally stereotyping 17 year old lads as drug crazed idiots asking to get attacked. I've never taken drugs and don't plan to, there is no question about how sensible that is, but we've all done things we shouldn't have, and all made mistakes - at first I though Mark Lewis was actually vaugely nice. Boy was I wrong!

I would vote Markdini for Prime Minister, but then I actually like Richard and Judy so what do I know?

2. A rod of iron is what we need to keep order. Also mucho kudos to you young sir for your stance on drugs. As for sterotyping its a sad inditment of our times when most people of a certian age are causing most of the troubles in this world.

3/ Richard and Judy are the core foundations of what broadcasting at that time of day should be.

£50 worth of agonizingly slow justice, well done! Of course the real irony is that the case probably cost the taxpayer several times that ammount. Thus is the nature of today's criminal justice system in Britain however, and the price of democracy and efficient policing, if such a thing really exists. Ahh well, nevermind.

Is anyone else an insomniac here or is it just me?

if someone is swinging something at you, the very best thing to do is to try and get up close as soon as possible, headbutt, eye gouge, or family jewels asap...if you're up close, they cant swing at you...then run...

and tai chi is a very powerful martial art as well as very relaxing...

for ultimate confidence though, i cant recommend boxing highly enough...you learn alot of confidence that way...and it'll get you ultra fit in no time too...looking at my belly, perhaps i should start again

That's the reason why I took up kickboxing, so that I could learn to defend myself if anything was ever to happen.

Now, thankfully I've never had to use it in anger but I know that I'd stand a much better chance with it than I would without.

You could just carry a cattle prod - less energy used in defending yourself and you can take photos of them with lipstick on when they're out cold and put them on the internet. As well as getting them arrested, it's the ultimate revenge!!
OK, boxing or karate probably is slightly more practical...

tai chi and boxing...marvellous...i wanna start again now...

one of my mates teaches tai chi, its phenominal when he gets going during some sparring...no katas like in most martial arts, continuous moves, soft and hard form...

and chi energies are fascinating enough on their own...dont get me wrong, its always best to just avoid these things, or run like hell...but just for inner self confidence....you cant beat it...plus you learn to control aggression too, which is always handy...
