I've just had the pleasure of attending a close-up show with Marc Oberon.
I think he performed something similar to Bang On.

However, I don't recall him taking any cards from any wallet. I 'thought' (damn it, I can't quite remember now) he simply produced them, very quickly, from a pack he was holding in his hand.

The performance was similar though. He asked an audience member to think of a card, announce it, and within seconds, Marc had produced it. He repeated this 5 or 6 times!

I'm guessing that you can't repeat Bang On to the same audience straight away.

Any comments? Is there 'another' routine, similar to Bang On that can produce a named card on multiple ocassions?

Cheers,
Don

Yes, Don.

It's called 'The ID'.

Thanks seige.

Sounds like I need to take a look at the ID.

I understand that it is a 'fixed' deck of some sort which I will have to buy.

However, a couple of quick questions-

1) Can it be reset and shown to the same audience repeated times?
2) Why does Bang on cost about 10 times the price of the ID? I'm assuming there is a fundamental difference that warrants a higher price for the former.

Cheers,
Don

With the ID, you just receive a deck of cards for the effect, with Bang On, you receive a DVD and the props necessary for the trick. With the I.D., you pick one card out of a whole deck, which is turned over and happens to be the chosen card, with Bang On you produce only ONE card out of your wallet, THAT card is the chosen card....

Both can be reset instantly and done again, though you should NEVER do an effect more than once to the same people.

Bang On is just a nicer trick with a great WOW effect...

I saw Marc's lecture (excellent) at The Magic Circle last night. The effect you are describing is his "Master Deck". Last night he was selling it (with DVD included) for £30.
