Help/Advice/Opinion On Marked Bicycle Deck (boris wild)

Postby LazyKat420 » Jan 30th, '07, 22:52

Hi,
Im looking to buy a marked bicycle deck...
I came across Boris Wild Marked Deck. I almost ordered them and then i came across "Refill for Boris Wild Marked Deck" and it's a bunch of s******s!! Now im afraid to buy the deck because i dont want to buy some deck that is has a bunch of s******s that A-wont last and B- will be felt. Also, i cant tell exactly what the s******s are, but it sure as heck looks like a LOT of things, which means a lot of memorizing.
Anyone have either of these products so that they can clear thigns up for me? Is the deck something that wont last forever (not forever, but you know what i mean) and does it have stickers on it? and does this deck require a bunch of memorization? and does anyone else have a deck that they like better, that's $25 USD or less? Or any other info/advice/comments you have will be appreciated....

Oh yea, Here's the links-

your boris deck will last as long as any regular deck, the refils are fro thoughs who already have one and want to adapt there own or make special cards up with them.

The proper BW marked decks are PRINTED.
The printing will last as long as the deck.

The s******s are high quality and also will last as long as the deck and, no, you can't feel them.

Both the BW decks and the refills to make your own are excellent. You won't be disappointed.

Oh, and no memory work involved other than CHaSeD.

This is of course only one man's opinion.I'm in my late 70's and my eyes in spite of my glasses, are not in the best shape. I have seen quite a few marked decks in my time. Today I have to be able to see quickly and easily the indentity of each card. I suppose with a lot of practise almost any deck could be used. I do not like the Boris Wild deck. The Ultimate Marked deck is very good. Ted Lesley's deck is very easy to read. The argument against the last two decks is that a "sharp" spectator can also see the marks. If the presentation is proper there should be no reason for the spectator to see or even suspect markings. As in everything that we do PRESENTATION is what is most important.

My opiunion is somewhat biased because the BW is the only marked deck I've ever had. I like it - it's always served it's purpose with me. The marking system is VERY good.... except for the court cards - they scare me. However, they have NEVER been discovered...so I've learned to trust the marking system.

I still say this: buy a red pen or marker and a pack of red bikes. By forming your own system and blotting out parts of the design you can make your own marked deck for the fraction of the price of any other marked decks. (Magic on budget, that's what I'm good at!)

I agree with monker on this one, I've put together my own system for marking cards which works really well. I've always thought that marked decks are very expensive for what they are.

Yes a fraction of the price of marked decks and much more useful for useful for spotting fewer cards or fewer aspects. Boris Wild gives you a complete picture of all cards. If all you're interested in red court cards, then pen is the way.
