Cost £24.99

Regarded as THE teaching guide to coin magic from the worlds leading coin magic expert!!

Everything you need to know to start on the right road to coin magic! Volume I gives you a solid working knowledge of the basics of Expert Coin Magic; and David then teaches you some of the greatest "classics of coin magic" ever created!

Included are; The Classic Palm, Classic Palm Vanish, Palm Finesses, The Utility Switch, Coin Switches, Copper & Silver, The Finger Palm, Finger Palm Vanish, Palm Transfers, The Shuttle Pass, Vanish & Reproduction, Coin Change, The Thumb Palm, Thumb Palm Vanish, Fingertip Rest Position, Loads & Productions, Winged Silver and Chink-A-Chink. This tape is approximately 84 minutes.

This is truly a fantasic video to get you started in Coin magic. It begins by showing you the main 3 palms used in coin magic, ie The classic palm, the finger palm and the thumb palm. Each part is dsealt with thouroughly, the palm is clearly shown, at normal speed, in slow motion and from a number of different angles. Tips are given on for example making your hand look natural with a palmed coin. Once these palms are mastered David then goes on to teach how they can be used to create a vanish or a production.

This is the first video in a series that takes you from beginner through to expert. If you want to get into coin magic but don't know where to start, I couldn't recommend this highly enough.

Nice, thanks for that, sounds like something I should see.
I don't think I've ever seen any David Roth stuff, maybe I should fix that :)

I agree. The Roth series are awesome.

But for my money, I'd go with Sankey's Revolutionary Coin Magic.

He's Roth on drugs... and he is very symbiotic with Roth, too. There's a lot of similarities.

Basically, for fast-paced magic which teaches *advanced* work - plus all the basics, like palms, steals, transfers, pinches etc. - the Sankey DVD is the one.

But, for a gentle, reassuring approach - the Roth series is hard to beat.

ahhhh
I have two distinct faves in this magical world and sankey is one of them, just got the best of 2 + 3, I am not worthy of this man.
Seing as I haven't mentioned him in five seconds or so and seeing as his books are better than playboy, the other is Derren :)
Sorry I couldn't help myself.

BaB...

You should be lashed to a tree and forced to take a vow of silence for mentioning two iconics in one post... it's not natural!

If I were to be stranded on a desert island, and I had the choice of five items to take with me... it would have to be my Laptop (which plays DVDs) plus 3 Sankey DVDs and the *remastered* DPB on DVD. Come on, Derren - satisfy your masses and release a DVD version!!! You probably don't need any more money, but you really owe it to the magic community to share the wonders of your world!

(Ooops... sorry... could I leave '45' behind, and take Nicole Kidman instead?!?!)

:)

Yes, Roth is good. But I am very much biased t'wards Sankey as far as coin work goes. He speaks my language, and you certainly get more bang for your buck.

(well, if you actually own a male rabbit, that is?!?!?)

What is Roths style?
Are we talking stright laced, with long mullet with blonde highlites and cheese spread "jokes" or just straight down technical know-how or something different?
I really don't know anything about the guy and am obviously far too lazy to go look.

But Seige, who would you say is better for the absolute beginner to coin magic, cos that is what I'd say this video was aimed at. Not having seen the Sankey one I've no way of comparing, and I do like Sankey but not sure how he could improve on this.

Toad

I know where you're coming from, but my only comment would be is that for my four penneth, Sankey teaches what Roth teaches but in a different way.

Roth is very much the more methodical of the two, and as far as ABSOLUTE beginners go, this is a bonus. BUT - in fairness, the Sankey vid teaches the sleights as you go along - and teaches you HOW and WHY they are used as part of practical, modern magic.

To clarify, the Roth material is great - but in my opinion, quite slow.

But then again, for a total beginner, the Sankey vid is a bit overboard at times.

I would say the Roth video would make a great companion to Bobo's book.

Then move on to Sankey :)

Hi guys,

The Roth set of vidz are excellent. If you are looking for a video of the Bobo book then this would be it.

Yes Mr. Roth maybe a little dull in his presentation but you can't argue with his technique. His thoughts on making sure you don't make any uneccessary moves of the fingers or hands when doing coin work are from someone who really knows his craft.

As for Mr. Roth being slow I think helps the spectator follow the routine. So many Magi perform coin magic at 100mph always worried about being caught out by the audience. Watching his series of vids shows you can give a pace to a routine. (I think this generally helps as coins routines tend to be very short.)

Oh and don't forget the title title of this video is "coin magic made easy" not "coin magic made so ridculously hard that you won't even bother practising it"

Just my thougths.

That probably would have been a bad marketing error if it had been called that...

So where does the Ammar coin video fit in with Sankey and Roth?

So Roth is for the starting magi, Sankey is for the smoking magi and I'm getting Ammar after Toady has finished with it?
Is that right?

Turned out nice again :)
