It's happening - 2nd booking confirmed!

And this one is FANTASTIC!! As a direct result of performing at a bar/restaurant a month or so ago I have had a phonecall from a lady who is friends with the restaurant owner, and was there that night. She is getting married on September 7th, and has asked if I would be interested in perfoming at her wedding reception.. IN ITALY!!! She's getting married at the Vatican (!) then holding a reception for 80 guests at a nearby hotel. She has offered to fly me out on the thursday afternoon, be a guest at the wedding on the friday morning then perform after the meal on the friday afternoon. Then another night in the hotel and fly back on the saturday!! :D

The only snagging point she said could have been how much I would charge to perform, as they had already spent a fortune, so this is where my bit of creative marketing came into play..

I've said If she will cover my flights and accomodation I will perform at the wedding for free. She was over the moon and booked me there and then, and how I look at it I get a free 2 day holiday and get to experience table hopping at a wedding, which ultimately I want to do as a profession. I'm also banking on there being at least one business person there who organises corporate events etc, so hopefully get more bookings as a result of this! She gets a few hours entertainment for the cost of a return flight and 2 nights in a hotel, approx £350!

Now I've just got to sort a decent routine out...

Great! Congrats! Be sure to prepare your commercial material (business cards, flyers, web, whatever...) for future contacts.

Good news mate and I'd have done it for free with the hotel and flights  Let me know if anything happens and you can't make it

On a serious note and a minor caution, check the times of the return flights to make sure that you get some good time in after the wedding to recover as you don;t want to be at the airport too early

Well done again.

Wow, that's great! I just have one question: Who gets married at the Vatican? I mean, that can't be a common occurence, can it? It'd be cool to be married there, I suppose. Is this woman super-rich?

Actually, from the looks of it, it's not THAT expensive. I got married in Vegas, and the two prices are relatively close...

But there's no casino in the Vatican...big minus for me.

Back on topic - This is an AMAZING opportunity for you. Congratulations and good luck!
