Card to wallet

Postby Ed Wood » Apr 4th, '07, 17:48

For many years I've been using a large Mullica wallet for the card to wallet but as I seem to be working less in a suit and more often in Jeans I require a hip sized wallet for my routine. Does anyone have any suggestions for a small, quality looking (by that I mean looks like a genuine wallet with compartments for cards and money etc) wallet. I've heard some good things about the Jerry oconnell plus wallet (small) although this does seem to be the most expensive on the market! This wallet seems to have a flap so the card can go into an envelope, which is definately a bonus. Generally I need something that can be carried in the hip or rear pocket and has good access for a palmed card (unless anyone can suggest anything better). Thanks for your help, Ed

How about Alakazam's Stealth Wallet, or perhaps the Outlaw wallet?

There are several threads on wallets on TM so a bit of Searching will find hours of reading on them and I'm sure the fans of the various wallets on offer will be able to give you the low down on why their choice was a good one. If you could pop over to the Introductions section and tell us a bit more about yourself it would be a good idea so we can make sure the responses are appropriate for your level of skill etc.

card to wallet

Don't know the official name for this routine but the "chosen" card is made by using a joker with the corner of the chosen card glued to the back of it. This card is then inserted into the deck where the spec chooses
and will show the bit part of the card only. The deck can then be examined and the card is gone which will then be produced from the wallet. This follows the rule of KISS. For me it is perfect.

If you wanted to stick with Mullica, he actually does have a hip pocket sized Mullica Wallet. The only place I know where you can get it is Penguin and it comes with a DVD. Here's the link:

Thanks,

Ha well I guess this isn't fully relevent as we're talking about gimmicked wallets etc but I did get a review that said, "Take all your gimmicked wallets and throw them away!" :)

I've never been comfortable with the gimmicked wallets. Not that there is anything wrong with them but I feel something appearing in the performer's wallet is nowhere near as powerful as the spectators.

I've used the hip pocket sized mullica and it is pretty good. I never had any problems with it and it did the job perfectly. The only reason I don't use it is because I went off gimmicked wallets. But look into it. I didn't get mine from Penguin (I stay away from there) but it looks like the same one I got at that link.

Oh and if you are dead set getting another gimmicked one then the Stealth Wallet is very nice. Also, Daniel Garcia has a gimmicked wallet coming out soon and I can tell you that it is amazing if thats your thing. When you see and use it, you won't want another!

Peter,
Any idea how long before the Garcia wallet will be coming out?

I've yet to purchase a wallet but have had it in mind for sometime to ad another dimension

I'd like to consider all available options before doing so, also is it hip sized?

Yep, it's perfect size. Basically it's the "coolest" most normal wallet you've ever seen. I would NEVER have thought it could be gimmicked, put it that way.

I'm not sure of a date actually, technically it was supposed to be released before now but you know how things are. If I do get info then I'll let you know but I'm afraid I'm left out of the loop on that one :(

Take it easy,

I think it's supposed to come out near Christmas time or somewhere near that.
