See, I've developed this coin effect recently that is pure commercial genius, it packs small and plays big, hitting real laypeople hard right between the eyes anytime anywhere. At least it's quite good.
What it needs though is a decent second phase. At the moment it's a transposition effect whereby a copper coin is placed in one hand, a silver in the other and after a magical gesture they change places (the patter's about how they're like the poles of a magnet and always want to jump back to their original positions). In the third phase one coin goes in the spec's hand and one in yours and they change places through clenched fists, not massively original but pretty powerful none the less. Also I'm quite proud of the handling and the apparent fairness of it all.
However the second phase is a bit of a lame duck. I thought it would be quite cool to talk about how the coins would leap visually then open my hands and muscle pass them back. In front of a mirror it looked quite good but in reality people think you're merely chucking them. So for now what I need is another way to make them change places in a slightly more impressive way than the first before the last phase.
The way I do the first bit is to pick up the right hand coin and false transfer to my left hand, leaving it in cp. The other coin is then clearly picked up by the right hand and held in that finger tip clip against the heel of the hand position (don't know the name sorry). I make a waving motion and chuck the protruding coin into my left loosely open fist as my hands cross then open them to show the coins have jumped back to their original places. It's a nice little moment.
Unfortunately I've been wracking my brains for a way to go better than this but can't come up with a good middle section. Anyone got any idea what to do? Obviously this thread could come a bit close to exposure and what not as there'll need to be some mechanical discussion so pm me if you like.
Cheers homeys.
