On my way home from a friend's birthday drinks, I noticed a homeless guy who was doing a few tricks for a few quid.

I watched him for a little bit - he had a svengali deck and was doing just general, but good tricks. The couple of lay people were impressed and gave him a quid.

When they went I gave him a pound (all I had) and a fresh deck of Bicycles that were in my pocket. He was so chuffed! He said to me "Wow! I've never had Bicycle cards"

I walked away feeling very happy - that's my good deed for this year.

When you get a reaction like that you feel great. Well done!

Good on you that was very nice of you to do that. It is a great filling to do some nice for someone and not expect anything back from them because you want to help them in some way. It makes you fill good in side and all so makes someone else fill good as well.

Next time that you're passing - stop and ask him what he's learnt with them

If you can teach him a thing or two in addition he'll be even more chuffed
