Just been given a moped thats been standing for 4 years :P anyone on here got any advice on getting them started etc i have only had cars

oh its a honda melody (sounds manly) deluxe with a 50cc 2 stroke engine lol

looking forward to playing about with this!

i might tart it up if/when i get it working get some card graphics on it lol

Sounds great! The cool thing about old 50ccs is they're so basic - if it's not working, get a manual, take it to bits, clean all the components with some Red-X, check the spark plug/s (one of the most common sources of failing to start), put it all back together and pray!

One thing you do need to do is check the petrol requirements - if it's a little old 2 stroke you may need to add a certain amount of oil to the petrol etc.

I'm sure there'll be loads of enthusiasts online more than willing to help out. Spares will be going for a song on eBay too.

I'd love a moped. I've always been to cowardly to get one though. Mind you, I've never driven so getting a car before I'm 30 is a deadline looming up on me.

If its been stood for 4 years your battery will be completely flat also, get a new on for the sake of 15quid

lol... its now a runner 8) not cleaned the carb out yet but got upto 26mpg.... :twisted:

I'll post some before and after pics soon, Its quite a nice vespa style thing!
