Give us a few more hints and clues - some of us are old enough to remember John Logie Baird's test transmissions but the memory fades after the age of 21.

Not even a flicker of recognition, I'm afraid, but it sounds like a good programme! The names sound vaguely familiar so will have to do a bit of surfing and see if the memory banks can be jogged - thanks!

The whole series, wich went out on what is now the citv slot, was based around the Davenport collection.
Roy Davenport made frequent apperances on it. There was also an accompanying book, which i have a copy of, Giving the history of magic to laymen, rather than tricks.
Maybe we should have more programes like this on television now.

Is this anything to do with Davenport's Magic Shop near Charing Cross, London?

Sorry about the blatant advertising, it's not intentional.
