hey guys. Been here a while but am just now getting around to posting a video. here's my first attempt. It's a cool little rubber band trick i've been working on. Got the idea from Dan harlan and kinda revamped the moves to make it my own. NOTE: This is not the same 'crazy man's handcuffs' trick that everyone posts. I think you'll like it. I'm kina proud of it. Hope you enjoy!

I figured someone would say that. Being a magician, it urks me to no end when people post videos flashing and giving away the method. I see it all the time here. In a live performance, a good magician can cover up any weird moments of dirty work with mis direction. The thing people don't realize is that you can't have 100% foolproof misdirection when posting a video, because, while they might not catch the dirty work the first time, people will always rewind it to find out how it's done and eventually figure it out. So to respond, yes, the dirty work was covered so that there's no way to go back and see it. That's the only way to guarantee a person watching the video will only see what the performer wants them to see since they can't be misdirected like when performng live. Asking me to SHOW the setup is asking me to expose.
Next time you post a card trick, make sure you show how you set up the deck so we can all see it, "it would be far better."

It's nice - the majority is a fairly common effect taught in a number of books/dvds, but you have a few subtleties that actually make it quite sweet, so well worth posting.

As for cooldudedan's comments, my opinion is you were quite right to edit it the way you did. You showed how it get's seen.

Very nice, and like you said not the same old rubberband stuff everyone posts. I've been looking into some of Dan Harlan's rubberband DVDs and I might just have to invest in them when I get some more money.

Absolutely loved it trooper, I'm a massive fan of rubber band magic. Any magic which uses simple objects leaves less roo in the imagination for 'specially made props', and you don't get much simpler than rubber bands.
You covered up the dirty work..... so what! Its an old effect...... so what! There are very new original ones left, and you did it exceptionally well.

I liked it, you managed to make it look slower and smoother than most. Might just pinch the idea actually!

Good work - like the way the bands almost spring apart. Makes for quite a nice illusion.

really. Where? I watched it over and over to make sure there were no flashes. You mind telling me where? I got my video camera back today so I was going to record a better quality version of some rubber band effects anyway. I'll just rerecord this one as well and fix it.

Good eye! I never saw that. It's pretty minor and don't think many would notice that, much less figure out the trick from that. Most would be looking at there they cross.
