Heya does anyone know the name, of the "think of card trick"

were someone just thinks of the card and you tell em, I knew someone that used to do it, but have lost contact with them....

Anyone got any names for it ?

There's loads of them. It depends on the method,the handling, presentation, skill level... Can you be more specific WITHOUT giving away secrets?

To be jonest the last time I saw this was about five years ago,

my mate just says, "think of a card"--- does a bit of patter

and then SHAZAMAGICA he tells them his card...

I know there are lots of variations and lots of mentalism books....Hence its difficult to know which one he used? Ill be happy with any, as long as the effect is roughly the same as part of a bigger routine i want to apply it to ?

Theres one called "Bang on" but i think its more of a gimmic trick than anything else ?

Ahh, so is that what actually happened or what you remember happening? As you describe it he's been performing the 'Holy Grail' of 'think of a card' effects... but are you absolutely sure it played out that way, that directly?

david berglas had the very best card at any number effect...but its not released...just thought i'd taunt you thats all...

sankey has a nice "their" card at any number effect, i use that myself quite alot...very powerful if dressed up in the right socks so to speak...

dont quote me on this, but i think it's on revolutionary card magic dvd...his best release as far as im concerned...

C'mon, that's like asking "does anyone know the name of the 'reversing card trick'?" There are so many you could read explanations until your eyes bleed and still not find the right one.

I know Sankey has one like this in his Create your Own Magic DVD. You fan out the cards and offer them to pick one. The spectator freely puts it back in the deck wherever they want. You then rifle shuffle the cards and give them some cuts. You ask the spectator to name a number between 1 and 52. You go to that number of cards and that card is there card.

Double Thought Projection is a nice one from Mark Wilson's Complete Course.

The spec thinks of any card, that card is then found in the deck and it's the only card with a different colour back. As a double wammy, a second deck is shown which also contains the thought of card but with a different colour back. A lovely effect and the spec doesn't ever need to touch a crad. Just think of one.
