Sandwich effect starter - work in progress...

...but no exposure!

Grr, what's wrong with attachments etc on the board?! I don't want to use YouTube!

Unfortunately Windows Movie Maker has taken against me and refuses to use any of my mp3s, so instead of the cool Lemon Jelly soundtrack, you get to hear... well, some Lemon Jelly, but in the background. It also means that you hear more of the noise made by "the move" (why is it digital camera video recorders are so good at picking up the sound of cards flicking together?!), and finally, the sound of me getting a text message!

The move itself: not telling! Although the experienced will probably be able to work it out. No dupes or forces are used, there are no cards between the two jacks at the start.

As I said, this is a work in progress, but was quite excited about the potential for this move and couldn't wait :P I thought it was a powerful start to a jack sandwich type of effect, instead of just getting them to draw some random card from the deck. When I get this totally smooth, it will slay people.

Anyway - watch, enjoy, criticise, comment etc, cheers.

Very nice sleight, however when you catch the b***k, and then ss the card it looks a tad hurried, as if you are trying to get though that bit as quickly as possible. I think just slowing it down would make it a brilliant sleight.

Just my two cents :D

<when movie maker messes up tutorial>Movie maker went against me aswell. Convert the .mp3 to .wav and then put the sound over the movie and it should work. You can download a converter for free, just googalise it :D</when movie maker messes up tutorial>

Looks good so far and I can see that when its smoother people will probably be gobsmacked

Cheers, both of you!
I would like to work on slowing it down, but the gold standard I'm aiming for is to show left, show right then replace immediately, with the deck halved or my hands on as little as possible! I could use it tomorrow in a bar type setting with banter + misdirection... I'm but I'm a perfectionist

One thing though Citrus... no b***ks are used :D

No actually, it's an adaptation of the Flexible Shift that I saw on "The Session" convention DVD. I say adaptation... really it's called the flexible shift because you can do so many different things with it, so perhaps "application" is a better word.

The guy who taught it (and I'm sorry, I don't remember if it was his or not, I think it was and I can't remember his name...) suggested secretly corner crimping the top card as an aid, but I developed what I think is (or will be) a much slicker and more foolproof way of doing it.

Just to clarify for people - by the time the top half of the deck is (messily) replaced, the work is done... the squaring up/deck rotation is just excess baggage.
