Magic Books By Post?

Postby Magicchivz » May 4th, '07, 08:56

Hi all,

Anyone used magic books by post recently? Are they still active? I want to order a few books but after putting an order in a while back and not getting any response/money taken from me/ or my book, Ive been a little worried about using them. Anybody used them?

Have you tried their phone/fax number - 0117 9774409? I bought several books last year and had no problems but that was almost 12 months ago.

I corresponded with them via email earlier in the week, as they were listing a book I have been after for some time now. Unfortunately, they did not have the book in stock, but responded to my emails very quickly and seemed very pleasant.

I've heard the shop recommended numerous times, and they have a very large catalogue of rare tomes. Unfortunately, I cannot personally vouch for their services, as money is yet to trade hands, but I can safely say that I have seen a great deal of positive comments about the site, and would not have any worries about ordering from them myself.

Is it just a mail order service or do they have a shop/stall as well?

There are no details of opening times as would be usual for a shop but there's a full postal address along with all the other details:
29, Hill Avenue, Bedminster, Bristol. United Kingdom BS3 4SN
Web site www.magicbooksbypost.co.uk
The worlds largest stocks and widest range of new English language magicians literature.
No secondhand.
2500 book titles
300 videos in stock
Automated 24 hour order taking service
Inland phone and fax 0117 9774409
Overseas phone and fax (Int) +44 117 9774409
or order by E-mail, address magicbooks@blueyonder.co.uk
or by our secure e-shop www.magicbooksbypost.co.uk

Perhaps they might be away or at one of the many conventions?

I've used them once or twice with no complaints at all. Unfortunately Freddie they are mail order only, however I do believe that they have stalls at conventions. It states on this page http://s110321674.websitehome.co.uk/mbbp_3.htm that "We are mail order only. Absolutely no visitors.." But wouldn't it be great!

Also I understand recently that there was a backlog or orders as Betty had a heart problem, which required surgery and obviously that took priority. I received an email saying that everything was back to normal and she was doing well. I hope this is still the case.
