and why does it have to be from ellusionist? you'll find that a lot of the more respectable folk on here have quite a thing against ellusionist

i'd actually really like the ghost decks if the red pips were actually red!!

i'll stick to saying i like green backed bikes, do they class as custom?
and the cherry red ones are quite nice too

I won't go into my views on Ellusionist, as they may cause some offense to the younger members here (and these guys - make no mistake - ARE the future of magic), so I'll just comment on my favourite deck:

Bicycles (red-backed or Blue-backed - I have no real preference): they are, quite simply, the best working-magician's tool in production.

Still it interesting to see what the majority of magicians here prefer.

er....yeah.... but in the same way Red backed and Blue backed bikes are even more the same thing on the same stock only with different backs, but we all have our preference between those 2!

i personally can't stand those black decks. you see too many people on youtube (and so forth) pretty much just going "hey, look at my black tiger deck... now I'm an amazing magician"............GAH!!

You should add Red/Blue/Black backed regulars as well.

I don't see why we just have to pick a custom deck.

Also i think it should be any decks ie bees

i think the whole idea of the custom decks defeats the point of why cards were first introduced into magic.

When cards where first used for magic it was because every house had a pack of cards in it. they were a common everyday item that everyone was familiar with. thus when the tricks were performed it was even more amazing for that very reason.

having cards that have been aged 100years are ghostly or what ever takes them out of that everyday catagory and puts them right in the spotlight of the spectators suspision.

plus they are bloody expensive and since i tend to destroy at least 3-5 cards every routine it would be silly to go with these cards just coz they have a fancy name and brad christian wants a new porsche.

Red back bikes for all my decks except for a "do as i do" trick where i use a blue deck. they do the job, people are familiar with them and they are a good quality and look good to the spectator.

think less about having fancy cards and more about having fancy magic your specs will appreciate it much more

However much I hate Ellusionist, I absolutely love the Ace of Spades in the "Master's Deck".

...Sadly, the only reason I buy the decks is to take the Ace out and stick it into a pack of normal bikes and use them when I perform for people when not working, if working I switch back to the normal ace :?.

Other than that, I love Tally-Ho's, I use those interchangeably with Bikes, red backs during the day, and blue backs during the night, and green for holidays like Christmas and St. Patrick's Day.

I think Tally-Hos and Studs are better than the decks named at the top. They're a lot cheaper, too...

They were basically made to make money, they new many of the younger magicians would be siked about them and buy them up. Thinking that the cards make them special or better in the art.
Granted I have a tiger, ghost and viper- when they offered the 3 pack set on sale.

but thats all I have bought. And rarely use them. I will always go for a deck of bikes over a E deck.

funny thing is you can get a black bike, not tiger, but original black deck for a lot cheaper, as well as many other colors- green, pink, orange, camo, lime, purple, etc.

Igot my first deck of bees last week. Now they are gorgeous.

I do like The Viper for nothing more than the way they look I wouldnt perform for anaudience with them though, Id onlyuse them as eye candy for manipulation.

And i certainly wouldnt buy them from ellusionist, from magic box maybe, but even then Id rather Ellusionist did not get hold of any part of my money.

Regular Red back bikes are my preference but I love Tallys aswell. I want to try squeezers, aviator, hoyle and fournier but ive not got round to it yet.

Ghosts, Tigers, Masters, Vipers are NOT the same stock as regulars. let's not make up "stories".

from a "use" point of view, I like the Masters personally because they look normal yet handle better.

from a purely asthetic point of view, I like Vipers.
