Advise on DVDs

Postby Melisa » May 9th, '07, 12:42

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and I'd like to get some advise on getting a DVD on pen thru anything effect.

I have just bought the pen but I need to see the demo on how to use or variety of the effect.

Which DVD will give me good instruction and also demo on how to create the effect?

Thanks in advance

Regards,
melisa

Hi Melisa

I'm not sure whether this effect has a dvd out? I would say that usually the instructions for this sort of effect are usually quite adequate enough. Your best bet is to read the instructions slowly and with the pen and a piece of paper and go through step by step. Once you have the general idea then practice loads in front of a mirror so you know what it looks like from a specatators perspective.
If this doesn't help then many magic website stores have a demo of this effect online or I'm sure one of the video sharing sites such as you tube might have demos too.

I hope this helps

Yeah - I Googled this a little earlier, and couldn't find any version which comes with a DVD tutorial.

In fairness, I can't imagine any of this type of prop would come without basic instructions, and I guess that's as good as you're likely to get, I'm afraid :?

That said, it is a fairly simple effect, in terms of ease of handling, so I can't imagine what more you'd get from a DVD (aside from a larger dent in your bank-balance, that is.....now, you just watch Ellusionist come out with the 'ULTIMATE Pen Through Anything' DVD in a week or two's time.... )

The props DO come with instructions, and in all fairness, the actual methods employed are self explanatory.

How it's used is pretty much down to the mechanics and the performer, I guess.

i think penguin have a video explanation for it, I haven't actually seen it but I came across it many moons ago.

But you could maybe have a try there but as everyone has said it should be fairly self explanatory on the instructions you get with the product.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

I have the penguin explantaion for the stealth pen through note effect, it is very good. I haven't got the pen yet so I can't talk about that. I got it free in their weekend bonanza thing.

Melisa, you seem to have gotten some good answers so I just thought i'd mention this. Usually, when someone first signs up to use the forum, it's best for them to make their first post in the "Introductions" forum. Other than that, I'm glad you got the help you needed and welcome to TM!

Penguin simply offer a 5 minute video with the stealth pen.
As far as I remember, it only covers pen through banknote.
