When I saw this forum . My first think was that oh this forum could help me to learn this trick . But no . so now I wounder why have an TalkMagic forum when you can't really talk magic?Cardza wrote:real_performance wrote:hmm . Bad.
Bad?! So you think your lack of respect for the art is okay?many people could do that trick so I should ask some others then
Then do it somewhere else.

There's a difference: we DO talk magic. We don't expose it however. We talk about material we like; shows, performers, give tips here and there; unless of course you think the only thing that you can talk about when it comes to magic is how the tricks are done.
We don't expose methods for two reasons:
1) It does not promote a good education when it comes to magic. There are books written by professionals who can advise much better than some hack with minimal experience. These books also give you a good grounding in the art as opposed to giving you a little bit of knowledge here and there that you can't really do that much with.
2) A lot of effects have a creator. That means someone who has invested a lot of time in creating this; they deserve to be paid for their contribution - which is why exposure of marketed effects absolutely is not tolerated here.
We do talk about secrets - OUR OWN secrets, effects WE OURSELVES have come up with - in the Magicians Only Area part of the forums... a place an attitude like yours isn't going to get you to anytime soon.
If you would like to know of sources from which you can learn it then that's a different matter (such as books and DVDs etc.).
My only think of this forum was that you guys/womens could learn out tricks and stuff like that here . so now I understand that this isn't the place I wanted . so wrong on me sorryMandrake wrote:We've had this same silly situation many times. Someone arrives and instead of checking the Forum rules and guidelines/stickies makes an incorrect assumption and when they’re told what the true situation is and why, they simply can't accept that their assumption was wrong and decide to get sarcastic over it by inferring that we ought to be doing what they want us to do! We fully appreciate that many newcomers need time to get the feel of TM and what we're about but I have my doubts that any understanding will develop in this case.
