Hey,

Is it too early to be getting excited about this. I've never been to one before but i've just ordered my ticket. Gold Card, but not the after party (even though i'd like to ask Franz Harary, why he has such a terrible perm). Is anyone else going? It hasn't been mentioned before. Maybe more posts will come closer the time, eh? I'm looking forward to the close up competion, mainly... and the gala show... and well, all of it.

Hope to be going, it depends on how the money flows...and if my family will take me!

I've been for the last several years - and still look forward to it each year. Be careful what you purchase because there are a lot of dealers (more I believe this year thanin previous years). If you are not careful you will end up with a lot of things you may not use. It's best if you take a considered list with you, and try to minimise the impulse purchases. Otherwise, your budget will be blown quickly.

Having said that, the performers and lecturers are so good that you could happily enjoy the weekend without spending additional money on tricks!

Funny you should say that because i just wrote out my list (honest i did), however it seems a little too long and is growing by the day (and my money isn't). Will have to consider... Have I got too much magic??? Is it possible to have too much magic???

I am going and have been attending for the last 5 years.
We are very lucky to have this convention in this country because it is the world's biggest with 3000+ registrants and the very best magical names attending. Most of these are not even lecturing or performing.

If this is your first convention then I am jealous because I still remember the first time I went with great memories. I remember walking around and going hey that Jerry Sadowitz, hey thats Ali Bongo...R Paul Wilson....Chris Korn....Greg Frewin....Michael Vincent......Jeremy Beadle ( have I gone too far with Jeremy Beadle?)

My only advice echos advice already mentioned........

Keep your money in your pockets until you have had a good look around.. in fact...

save your money till Sunday...

most dealers from abroad will reduce prices to stop taking stuff back o the plane and if you really like a trick that is sold out you can wait until you get home and order if from your favourite dealer.

take everything in and keep your money in your pockets untill you are certain you want to buy an effect.
