Sorry about not replying earlier!
I don't work at the weekend and I was out of the country.

Firstly I'm sorry if I offended anyone by mentioning the price straight off, I did not want to waste anyone's time as I'm sure some of the forums users can command four figure sums which I'm not able to offer. Also admittedly I had little idea for the going rate.

I really did not know better but realise in retrospect that was not a diplomatic way to handle the situation.

Some of your comments have been very helpful and constructive, and I do believe I will find someone for the event.

I'm more keen to get someone involved who is a good sport and is enthusiastic, this attitude alone is more important than experience in my opinion. I have no illusions that the amount offered is anything but very modest and I was blunt enough to state this from the beginning as not to waste anyone's time. The event in question is at 5 pm and on the Wednesday which I thought might make it easier for me to find someone willing to help as its not peak time.

I would like respond privately to any propositions if that's alright.
