Morning.
I know there are techies among you, and I wonder if any of you can help me find a solution.
I need to set up a monitoring system. It is for indoor use to help us keep an eye on a rather unwell relative.
We need to have 2 cameras running from the same pc. This already could create conflicts, so I may need a workaraound.
These webcams both need to have a constant stream flowing out, and will be accessible via a login page from more than one person at a time.
The login page I have no problem with once we have the backbone of this in place.
The things I am unsure on are;
The easiest way to have two webcams running from the same pc,
Having the constant double stream running.
I know msn et al would be unsuitable as they would time out and allow only one connection and one webcam. Would it be better to run through a dedicated URL and server, and would this need specialised software installed? I have the URL we could run this through already if that is the way to go.
Installing a server on the pc in the flat is no problem if needed.
We need to achieve this a cost effectively as possible.
Many thanks to anyone who may be able to help point me in the right direction here.
