ATFUS

How is everyone?

I’m after people’s opinion of ATFUS. I’ve gone back to Card College to relook at this and it seems to me so very unnatural. When I’m practicing it just doesn’t flow. Catching the break on the bottom card as it leaves the deck is clumsy and bringing the cards back to the deck, says suspicion. I’m sure it’s me, can someone please assist? Oh by the way this is not the Vernon variation.

If possible I’d like to see a video or two of it in performance to see if it is as unnatural as it reads. Can people suggest effects it’s used in, as a search in YouTube and Google for AFTUS comes up with “Do you mean :gtefcu?”

Thanks in advance

Best

It might seem quite unnatural to you now but once you find a good trick which uses it your spectators probably won't find it any more suspicious than a DL, a swing cut or a pressure fan. After all, you are demonstrating skills you have that your spectator does not. Your average spectator would never be inclined to perform a swing cut or a pressure fan with a deck for any reason, just as your spectator would also not be inclined to an perform ATFUS. The move itself has many applications which (as the name suggests) can be used anytime you need to switch cards face up.

One of my favourites at the moment using this is "Hardcore Packet" by Jay Sankey and Richard Sanders (and as such can be found on the Sankey/Sanders Sessions DVD).[/b]

Thanks for that.
...just as your spectator would also not be inclined to an perform ATFUS

My concern isn't that they would try and perform it, my concern is that, as a spectator, they might be suspicious of it. I just looked up on youtube for an performance of Hardcore Packet, and it's confirmed my suspicions (obviously that's down to their performances). Why would you take off the cards, display them and put them back on the deck? I need an excuse to do this to stop it looking suspicious. Perhaps I am paranoid

I'll keep practicing!!

You put them back on the deck to square them up. Or just for a split second. Relax, dont make a deal of it, and act perfectly natural

Its natural, your spectators arent thinking you going to be dropping a couple of cards back on the deck.

One more thing.. please dont watch videos on youtube. If I ever come back here and find your still watching those aweful videos Ill kick you ass :P
