A new quest!

a while ago we were doing a workshop for a local charity, teaching kiddies to juggle and general entertainment. it didn't take us long to decide we wanted to play with the space hoppers too
this was the result of a few minutes practise
http://media.putfile.com/SpaceHopperJuggling

we can now do async-4 ball too.

so we had a thought, if we put in a bit of work we might actually have something that could be passable as a show-piece at the next British Juggling Convention.
If we got it up to juggling 5 it would be truely amazing stuff (at least we'd like to think so, don't see us doing 5 though)
So, the dream, is to have a piece of juggling that we feel we could actually perform on a stage infront of other jugglers.

if anyone has any ideas on what they think would look good please don't hesitate to suggest them. it's what i'd like to hear.

I think its really good and I think you guys should definitely get an award just for that video! I think it would be cool if in a competition, while two of you were juggling, a third person could play a little bit of music on one of those giant keyboard mats that play notes when you step on them. It could be a nice little touch with the whole giant prop thing.

I’ve just realised that I’ve sat here and watched grown men playing with space hoppers :D

Excellent stuff Lawrence, it looks bloody difficult. Good luck with four let alone five!

It does look pretty cool. If you could do a classic juggle instead of the sort you were doing (don't know the name) then it would be even better! But that's probably asking too much.

3 looks good enough. 4 would be amazing. 5 I couldn't imagine!

If you got 5 down well enough I think you're onto a winner

4 is essentially just me doing 2 and Will doing 2. and could actually be easier than doing 3. we'll try and get a proper cascade (the regular juggling you know) going on. although what we were doing (a kind of shower) is easier to do with space hoppers, since it involves throwing the hoppers at angles that reduce the risk of impact.

now i've got an idea for someone doing some other kind of juggling in the middle of us while we juggle big balls over the top of them. nice idea. maybe just a person in the middle doing a small scale version of whatever we're doing with the hoppers.

hey lawrence if you could get a mini set of space hoppers to juggle in the middle that would be realy cool, might have to get them specialy made but could be worth it for the bragging rights alone.
