if your still uming and ahhing read this honest aprasale from a coin fan thats me by the way.

you use a borrowed coin, it stays in plain view at all times till its hidden by hand or bussiness card.
no switches and no palming or strang hand girations, the exact same coin is used for the reveal.
you can hand back the bussiness card and the revealed coin which remains in plain site at all times after the reveal.

its a utility prop up ther with the tt and the dl & trn.

hmm - I like the trick. I think it's a really nice effect, but IMHO i don't think it's worth what they're charging for it. I think I've worked it out - well i can duplicate the effect (must admit the previous posts in this thread helped me along the way). In the past this would've been one of a number of effects in a book probably for a similar price.

As a nubi to magic I managed to learn how to do this competently in about 3 days (I'm a slow learner.. and I want to do it right) and everytime I've performed (to friends, family and small groups etc.. I don't do any performances as such) it it has gone down really well and no one has any idea how it's done.

Getting the stuff is not impossible and I experimented with quite a few variations of construction materials (as suggested in the post purchase forums) until I found the right combination for me. Then the fun began.

As for parking.. there are many tips on the post purchase forum on how to park and alternative constructions to make sure it stays out the way (I found that I kept snagging the original version if I did alot of other tricks first.)

All in all I think this is really quite an excellent effect (although I tend to use signed coins at the moment and not rings etc.. because my handling needs to be perfected for these items.)

have you considered using a trowser button or shirt button for location and loading can be done when you interlace your fingers and give them a streatch limbering up your fingers for the next trick, i often use this trick to load a coin in goshman's for a coin's across routine.

I've just got melt and i think it's great. I'm having problems finding the stuff I need for the gimmick. I have one piece, I just need the end bit. In the video he says you can find it in arts and crafts stores or whatever, but I spent like all day today hunting round for some and I can't find it anywhere. If you know where I can get some it would be much appreciated thanks

have you tried a hardware store in the filler section.

its not realy a kids trick so i havant used it but i did practise with some off the shelf stuff, but i don't think you would want to paint your toenails blue.

its open forum sometimes we say the oposit of what we are trying to get across so i'll explain it as clear as i can get away with.

if you use the same stuff for the top bit that i used when practising this vanish you would need to paint youre fingernails blue or cover them with kitchen plasters that are also blue.
if memmory serves you can get some stuff to repair scratches in table tops along with the apropiate coloured dye, the stuff should suit youre purpose or you could buy it from a magic shop, i think most of us do.
