Blindfolds for blind performers?

Postby RobLaughter » May 23rd, '07, 04:42

Since I'm obsessing over the nuances of my performances...

I've got terrible eyesight. The eye doctor can only estimate 20/1500, as I'm off the scale for my uncorrected vision. I'd like to incorporate a blindfold effect into my upcoming mentalism act this fall, but I can't perform any of the necessary dirty work because I wear glasses to correct my vision and it would look pretty weird for me to wear glasses while wearing a blindfold to prevent me from seeing. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rob

You need to chat with Glenn Falkenstein... believe it or not, he has a prescription blindfold

You really should touch base with them... go through Mike Ammar and explain your situation and that you understand that his father in law (Glenn) has a special blindfold that he uses for dealing with a similar issue.

Hah! That's brilliant! I asked Craig Karges (who does a brilliant "paycheck roulette" style effect) and he said I was pretty much out of luck. Good thing I started looking for a second opinion!
