Voodoo Box?

Postby kerplunkmagic » Feb 26th, '04, 18:24

Hi ,

I recently got and email from Andrew Mayne's Newsletter , telling me aout his new invention called the "Voodoo Box". To see what it looks like , visit : www.weirdthings.com ...I was wondering what people though about it - or if anyone who had it could give me some insight into how good it is. Does it live up to the hype?

Thanks ,
KerplunkMagic

Oh , by the way , I think a trick like this was performed on 50 greatest magic tricks Hans Moretti - he also did a trick with a crossbow...if thats any help?

Isn't this the same illusion that shahid malik uses with wooden spears and a wooden box? just cleverly marketed? If this is the case the effect is great, using everyday items. I love this i think its the way all magic should be....repeat after me.....
everyday objects great effect, everyday objects great effect, everyday objects great effect! :P

wooden spears and a wooden box
and a lovely flesh and blood assistant. This certainly looks like the same sort thing and is probably based on the Basket Trick. Nice touch with the umbrellas, if it goes wrong you'd have something to use to protect yourself from all that blood squirting all over the place.

Have a look at 'Sword Cardboard' on http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... oe%3DUTF-8 and take no notice of the strange translation!
