Hi guys,
I just joined the forum.
I already posted a question in the support/tips section and of course got in trouble already

figured I'd better introduce myself. I'm a 30yr old amateur hobbyist interested mainly in card effects - more specifically gambling related moves. I don't perform, and I don't use this stuff in card games - its mostly just a weird obsession with learning as much as I can about this stuff.
I first got into this stuff when I picked up a copy of Scarne on Cards in a used bookstore about 3 years ago. I was hooked from the start, and although he doesn't describe too much in the way of handlings, I worked out most of what he talked about on my own. I figured out the charlier's one handed pass, back take bottom deal, crude pushout bottom deal, strike second deal, and a simple riffle control stack. From there I worked on all kinds of stuff from Erdnase on the train to work. I have no idea how good I am compared to other people, since I've never really sessioned with anyone else.
I'm very familiar with Darwin's "Annotated Erdnase", Marlo's "Revolutionary Card Technique" (as it applies to gambling type moves), RRTCM, Phantom of the Card Table, and Gene Maze's bottom deal book. I also have Ackerman's false deals dvd.
I am very interested in the history of the moves I'm learning, as well as mastering the fluid use of them. I've worked hard on most of the bottom deal handlings I've come across, as well as several of the second deals. I'm also working on a few false shuffles and cuts. I'd like to learn more about riffle control although I have worked out several of "my own" riffle moves, which I imagine are the same as what might be described in various places.
I've worked out most of the one and two handed pass handlings I've come across, and have even devised my own that I've never seen (see my other post in support/tips section). I have a couple of pretty fluid peeks that I can do, and plenty of overhand shuffling control techniques. I have just started messing with edge work since I just picked up a copy of the "Phantoms" book about Walter Scott.
Well that's about all for now. Looking forward to some good discussion!
