I've been inspired. Deeper and deeper is on the way and will give the ency of stage hypnotism a read after.

Just out of interest (perhaps this is delving too far into the secrets) but what different suggestive methods are used? Would you for instance use a word that corresponds to clubs and another for the '4' to suggest the '4 of clubs'?

nahh...after thourough reading I have deduced two methods...

1)he changed his top realy quickly and it has on the front "play along and pick the four of clubs" :D

oooooor

2)He uses the following script...

right. i want you to pick any card FOUR instance a CLUB. Now, i want you to follow this story in your head...if you dont i will CLUB you one FOUR times. Imagine walking with FOUR friends to a CLUB. you buy FOUR drinks and each of the FOUR of you have FOUR rounds at the CLUB you are at FOUR the FOURTH time. After the bouncer sees the FOUR of you drinking underage at the CLUB, he realises that you have done this FOUR times so far at CLUBS all around town. He takes our his CLUB and says "if the FOUR of you don't leave this CLUB i will CLUB you one" you walk outside and find a deck of cards and pick up a card.

say what card you pick up...FOUR instance a CLUB

actually...i might try both those options...could earn me a fortune if they work

I know my question probably deserves banter for the simplicity of my explanation (cheers Blapsing_Beard :D ), but I know absolutely nothing about the subject. I'm sure the methods are far more complex than simply suggesting words that correspond to a card and wondered if anyone could provide a bit of insight.

You are correct it is not just as easy as simple suggestion.

I would recommend looking into social influence and obedience as well.

You must know when the suggestions you will use will have the best affect, and when they will not work at all. Risk management

I do not use the word 'club' at all, as the person will obvious see what you are trying to do and think of something else.

Once you have read more into this subject I will be happy to recommend other books. There is a lot of material that you will need to read, do not overdo it to the point that you hate the sight of psychology books; take it easy, there isn't any rush.

I am glad that you are inspired, keep it up :D

Kindest,

-Paul

I'll echo Pauls advice re learning about hypnosis. If you want to perform a routine for entertainment purposes you will rarely find anyone or anything to do with hypnotherapy of use. Seek out a stage hypnotist. Very similar things are involved but they are also poles apart.

It could make for a pretty effective (if slightly comical) routine if you could suggest a totally different card while using this script.
