ANGRY

Postby Michael Kras » Jun 7th, '07, 22:20

I am at a total loss for words. I have attended the greatest magic camp in the world, Sorcerer's Safari www.sorcererssafari.ca and I posted a video of camp on the forum. I received a reply from MARKLEWIS saying the following:

"I do not approve of these mosquito ridden magic camps full of horrible 10 year old urchins doing the linking rings and the cups and balls and putting out tricks for the magic community like our child genius member Michael.

I informed Magic Mike who runs the awful place of my opinion a few days ago. He did not seem to share it for some reason. He did reveal however that fully 80% of the brats are not doing magic 5 years later. Instead they are coming up to me when I am selling svengali decks saying "I know that one. I went to magic camp" I feel like throttling the little b******s.

I may see Magic Mike again tonight and will inform him again that he is spawning thousands of bad magicians and they should bring in compulsory euthanasia for magicians under the age of 14.

He doesn't even make any money out of it. Magic Mike and Greenpeace have a lot in common. They are both non profit organisations. He just does it for the love of it. How terribly odd.

He should hire me as a camp counsellor. I would make sure all the little b******s were drowned in Lake Ontario"

That makes me downright mad.

That's Mark Lewis for you

If you retaliate then he's like s**t on a blanket, hard to get rid of  Just ignore him and he'll pick on someone else after a while.

Really? He's normally like that? Wow.

Calling us b******s and amateurs is something I so not take kindly though. As a result, here was my reply. Kind of harsh, but he deserves is:

"Please tell me that was sarcasm!

Yiou have got to be kidding me! This is the best camp full of respectable professionals who are there to teach us and we are there to learn. How can you say that just befroe seeing Magic Mike? Does he know your thoughts on this?

I am truly shocked by this post, and I have so many nasty thoughts about what you have said that I could probably be banned for saying here. Of course he makes money off the camp! He is charging $1000 a person for God Sake!

Please reply. Are you serious about what you have just said?

I am sorry for coming off so arrogant before, and I have changed my ways. I am not releasing any more material. Just DON'T you say a THING about Magic Camp.

Furthermore, most of us at magic camp have multiple years of experience, even professional experience. We have a kid who can backpalm and entire normal deck! We have kids who own literally 1 ton of magic equipment! We have 15 year old illusionists! We have teenagers that regularly perform that The Magic Castle! We have kids that have won multiple awards!

So don't tell me we are a bunch of amateurs looking to learn some simple tricks to show friends. It is a hardcore camp with hardcore teaching and magic. It was the best experience of my life."

Ahh... I feel a bit better now.

b******s is a bit far even by his standards and you may find this posts edited or deleted once a MOD pops his head up later on but yes, Mr Lewis is normally like this.

Buy a copy of his book and he'll be your best friend - eventually

That may seem a little harsh but I had to laugh. Mark loves to stir the s**t and people who take the bait.

I think you just need to know how to take the guy or maybe I just don't take life that seriously.

You certainly have to be thick skinned around him though.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

Doesn't in any way excuse language like that. Even for Mark, these comments are too personal to be acceptable. I have had my run ins with Mark in the past, but left all that behind. Whoever posted this would be out of order.

Than MarkLewis is out of order! Yes way too personal! He was insulting me, my friends and he also insulted the best experience of my life. Even though it obviously isn't my camp, I was still very hurt by this. These guys are my FRIENDS, and many guys my age at Camp were better than some professionals I have seen in the past while!

Odd that someone who recently stuck up for me just made me feel like junk.

I'm not defending the guy and I don't want to get into an arguement.

All I meant was that there are far worse things that could happen to you in life than someone insulting you.

I'd just take it with a pinch of salt and forget about it

im sorry to post a bit of a downer on this thread but mark is simply lowlife for saying that.

in january we had, in my village a 13 year old that hung himself after being bullied at school. the last person that he spoke to was the bus driver who called him an annoying little b*****.

so mark grow up, stop picking fights with anyone and everyone especially young'uns who can take it to heart, you really do make me sick with comments like these!!!

and everyone else, why are you all so leniant against this vermin? if it was anyone else who spoke the way he does they would be sin binned and banned in a second, why do you let it carry on? is it because you all like his book?

im sorry to be so brash in my post but it does wind me up no end! can one of the mods just answer why he is allowed to get away with posts like he does?

mark likes people who give him the bullets to fire back at and he will no doubt attack with full force as you have not only given him the bullets, you loaded the gun and painted a shoot me here sign on your backside with your multiple posting.
starting your own thread was enough to get our attention mate.

sensitivity is not a good prerequisite for a magician, neither is over egging the pudding, expect some flaming as well as sympathy for being a victim.

You're right. I will have to learn to overcome my sensitivity. Unfortunately that HAS affected my magic in the past.

I will try to ignore Marklewis from now on..

Ryan, been there, done that, got the T shirt and almost had a Mod resign. I've more or less ignored the comments made since. I looked at this thread not knowing is what about Mark so I am not trying to bash him for the sake of it. I have made comments which I have needed to delete before, as have other people. Most of us realise that we were wrong and apologised on the forum. Thye better person will admit they are wrong. Anybody that makes comments such as those, that doesn't, should be cosidered small minded and be ignored, just like your grandads farts. They might be offensive, but they don't deserve any respect. I am not saying this about Mark, as I am sure that he will be man enough to give a full apology on the forum.

Michael bear in mind that even the best magicians today have their critics including Jay Sankey  .

If you put yourself in the spotlight people will look and point at you. But always try to tell yourself you do what you do because you love magic, who cares what other people think or say.
